It is so easy sometimes to forget to take care of our vehicles properly, what with our hectic lives and lack of free time for anything substantial, like waxing and polishing our vehicle to properly maintain the paint and overall looks of something we paid 10’s of thousands of dollars for. And yet, we do, so TCP Global has something to make a tedious, mundane chore like waxing your vehicle so much quicker, easier, and simpler.

And yet the TCP Global 7″ Speed Polisher with 6 Polishing Pads kit can be as simple or complex as you need it to be, with multiple pads for different levels of waxing depending on the needs of your paint. Personally, I’ve been chewed out in my younger years for washing my car with soft soap and my hands before a big date, but Hubby came along and immediately put the kibosh on that, and showed me the importance of keeping the exterior or my car clean and properly maintained. This kit will definitely help you accomplish that, with variable speeds and a digital RPM readout screen to help you keep things even and uniform. There’s plenty of power in the 10 Amp, 1200 watt motor here for tough “cleaning” waxes for neglected paint, even as far as cutting waxes for severely weather-worn paints. But it’s also gentle enough for a clear coat quick polish as well, with a setting as low as 600 rpm, or as high as 3000 rpm for a liquid-like shine. The seven inch polishing pad covers enough real estate to make even waxing our big honking 4Runner a quick 45-minute task instead of an “all afternoon” task. You can even vary the grips as needed, with a simple side handle (similar to an angle grinder) for vertical applications, and a removable top mounted handle for trunks, hoods and tops that are horizontal. The 8 different waffle-foam pads are textured for 8 different levels of polishing, depending on the needs of your paint, with standar hook-and-loop attachment. Add a convenient high-impact molded carry/storage case, and you’ve got a professional-quality tool for less than the cost of a professional detail job.

And TCP Global stands firmly behind every product they sell. This 7″ Speed Polisher is comprehensive without feeling daunting for someone who’s just getting serious about automotive care, but not so over-the-top that a female like myself feels it’s “too much tool” for me. I’m glad I got to try it and can’t wait to see the results.

If you’re like me you need to make more than a few stops to get groceries. Like, sometime 5 or 6 stops. All in different cities. And the one thing that gets Hubby’s goat more than anything are the “nickle-and-dime tactics” of markets that want you to pay for a bag. So thankfully, LK Baby offered us another car trunk organizer that has made our shopping trips a lot less frustrating.

See, we both get when a city has decided to ban plastic grocery bags. The reasoning is specious at best and the results are marginal, but hey, it’s pure profit for everyone involved (except the consumer). And charging for paper bags? When they’re made from the cardboard boxes they get their products delivered in? Give me a break! So I’m sure I’m not the only person who had things rolling around in the trunk or back seat because you’ve gotten tired of everyone having their hand in your pocket. And Starling’s is a lifesaver, because their organizer is big, spacious, sturdy and oh-so-helpful getting stuff from the truck to the house. It’s well-built and strong enough that we stuffed all our Costco purchases in it, and could easily carry everything in with no fear of dropping anything or the organizer being strained. It’s covered in water resistant nylon fabric, which means cold things sweating, or light spills, are not a problem. The bottom is unfortunately not rubberized, unlike the Starling’s version I previously tested, and the carry handles on the sides are strong and sturdy. You can customize the divider inside, or only open up half to minimize the space it takes up. I’m in love. And the dividers have done a fantastic job of keeping cold, warm, and non-food items all away from one another. There’s room in the pockets for more stuff, on all sides, and should one feel the need, you could store everything you’d need for any roadside emergency in Starling’s organizer, with room to spare. and when you’re done with it, it folds right back up, nice and flat and takes up practically no space at all.

We’ve bought cheap-o organizers for the car and truck before. They always fell apart, broke down, or weren’t made to last and got tossed. But for only $19.99, you get a rock-solid trunk organizer that holds way more than you’d think, and does more than you can imagine.

How many times have we tried to apply glue, lubricant, water, or alcohol to a very specific place only to have it spill over, dribble, or miss and nearly ruin what we were trying to protect, clean or preserve? It’s happened to me countless times, but it won’t be happening again in the near future thanks to these wonderful Bstean Syringe applicators.

Content in the past with being inaccurate or buying those cheap, disposable bulb applicators, or even a cotton swab or Q-Tip, these syringe applicators are a crafter’s DREAM! I never again have to worry about slopping glue or oil or even droplets of paint, I can now apply them all with laser accuracy! With blunted tips to keep from accidentally jabbing yourself, you still get pin-point application or whatever viscous liquid you want to apply. Hubby even swiped a few because let’s face it, gun and knife lubes are not cheap, and you don’t want to be slopping oils on parts that absolutely don’t need it or could damage the tool. Need to apply a light grease to a hinge? Problem solved. Need a few drops of that expensive, fancy Benchmade lubricant? Got you covered. Want a single drop of glue for a delicate crafting project? Yup, Bstean’s syringes are up to the task. Single droplets of paint on a project? Done and done!
BStean actually took some of the criticisms to heart and have included rubber caps or stoppers for filling your syringe applicator from the back with particularly viscous fluids. Still lacking, though, is the notice on the Amazon order page that all the syringes come printed with “Single Use” on them. Hubby disregarded that, and stuck his for his knives and guns in a zip top baggie and squirreled them away with his other tools for his “stuff”. No problems to report from re-use, though. The ones used for glue are almost always single use anyways, because the glues will harden in the tubes. But at only $9.89 shipped for a pack or 10, you get four different sizes, too: 1ml x 3, 3ml x 3, 5ml x 2, 10ml x 2 with needle gauges ranging from 1.5” 14Gx2, 1” 18Gx2, 1/2” 16Gx3, 20Gx3, and color coded for your convenience. Really sturdy, industrial grade, really well-made with metal needle syringe applicators, I plan on buying more in the future as my old ones get used up. Great product all around with a multitude of uses, and a fantastic price.

It’s one of those situations you pray you never find you or your loved ones in: Trapped in a care and you can’t get the doors open or windows down. Hubby carries a small tool check hidden all over his person, so when I’m with him, I know I could get out. But what about when he’s not there, or there’s no suitable analogue? Thankfully many, many folks have stepped up to the plate to provide more emergency hammers that you could…well, swing a hammer at!

Real Deal Tools offered me a twin-pack of their emergency escape hammers, and I was totally on board. Lightweight plastic makes up the body of the hammer, with two tungsten steel pointed hammer heads. Made in bright orange, if real deal stopped right there they’d have a wonderful, functional tool set for $17.99. But they didn’t, the uncluded a second hammer for the same price. With sturdy black hamer holders, they can even be mounted easily almost anywhere in the car, but please, do make sure it’s somewhere you can reach from your belted seat. Because once have the hammer, a quick flip reveals the safely recessed (but razor sharp) safety belt cutter. Yup, the two pack of two headed hammers is in fact a pair of tools.

Normally I try to find faults for products, but there’s no faults here, in fact even if you don’t buy this great brand you need one of these in your car, truck or SUV. And every day you get home and that tool wasn’t used, you’ve won a little there.

It’s always in the back of your mind: I hope nothing happens to me on the road today. Especially in Southern California, with it’s cornucopia of, let’s call them “challenged” drivers, you feel like you’re taking your life in your hands every time you hit the road. And while we haven’t had a major incident in over 30 years, it doesn’t mean one couldn’t happen to us. But if it does, we feel a little more secure with First Secure’s Premium Roadside Emergency Kit.
Packed to the gills with almost every conceivable thing one would need in a minor (or maybe moderate) roadside emergency, it’s 90 pieces of peace of mind all in a zip-up travel case. And while the piece count is made up of many multiples like multiple zip ties and a 48-item First Aid kit, it still has plenty of stuff you always hope you never need but feel better knowing you have them. A couple of the items are things you should immediately replace with better, stronger items, such as the gloves, headlamp and multi-tool, and the compressor is nice in a pinch but could take some serious time to fully inflate tires on anything but a mid-size vehicle. But it’s still nice to know those things are there in a pinch. And some items are absolutely indispensable and I’m ashamed I didn’t have them in the truck before I got this kit, like the roadside triangle, the tow strap, first aid kit and the bungee cords. The only item I have a major problem with is the jumper cables. While the heavy, 6-gauge braided copper wiring seem more than adequate, the flimsy plastic handles/covers tend to slide off or just plain break apart, leaving your bare hand grabbing a live wire. It’s dangerous and should be redesigned immediately. I replaced them with some other jumper cables with more secure handles on the leads. Aside from that the kit includes:
- (1) 6 Gauge 300 Amp 10 Foot Jumper Cable
- 250 PSI DC (Cigarette Lighter) Portable Air Compressor
- 11 Ft. 10,000 Pound Capacity Tow Rope
- 1 Reflective Warning Triangle
- Multi-Tool Unit with 9 Tools, including Knife and Screwdrivers
- 1 Roll Black Electrical Tape
- 2 Bungie Cords
- 20 Cable Ties
- 1 Pair of Work Gloves
- Headlamp with Batteries
- 8 Piece Tire Repair Kit
48 Piece First Aid Kit includes:
6 Povidone-Iodine Prep Pads, 6 Alcohol Pads, 2 Antiseptic Cleansing Wipes, 10 Regular Size Adhesive Bandages, 3 Cotton Sponges, 1 Bandage Triangular, 2 Rolls PBT Bandage, 1 Roll Medical Tape, 10 Cotton Swabs, 1 Pair Gloves, 1 Pair Scissors, 5 Safety Pins, plus 1 Storage Case
At $59.95, it’s a touch over priced, especially considering that almost half of the item count of the entire kit are in the first aid kit. I would also like to see a basic flashlight and some road flares, but as it stands it’s a pretty decent kit. There’s also something to be said about the peace of mind one gets knowing that you’re covered in a great many different types of roadside emergencies. Hard to put a price on that.

With our always on the go, always connected lifestyles, we’re sometimes hopping from outlet to outlet, trying to get a little more juice to make it through the day. Sometimes we forget the easiest way is to just plug in in the car. Because, at least in California, getting anywhere means spending most of the afternoon in traffic.

LDNIO understands this, and made a two bank power adapter for the car, so there’s no hogging, no monopolizing, and there’s plenty of juice for everyone. It’s simple and basic, and while LDNIO claims their “Intelligent circuit design protects against short circuiting, over-heating, over-currents, and over-charging. Charging stops when battery is full”, I would make sure not to leave it plugged in too long after you see the phone say the battery is full just to be safe. The LDNIO charger is small and light, and comes with a micro USB cable to connect your Android devices, so you’re ready to go right out of the box. It’s a shiny black-with-chrome-accents, so it looks nice as well as functioning nice. I found myself making sure it’s with my collection of “necessary stuff” every time I leave the house.

It sucks to be caught out there with a low battery, and nothing’s worse than getting out and going to find you forgot to charge your phone. The only downside I could see is the 2.1A output is shared between the ports, not a dedicated 2.1A per port, which means that if there’s two devices charging at once, it’s little more than a trickle charge that could take a while to top off both devices, depending on battery size. LDNIO’s car charger takes care of you, though, with full 12 months warranty. So, even if you both forgot to charge up the night before, at $10.99, you’er covered, and there’s no excuse to not have one in every car!

There are tools that are essential to any home, toolbox, or tool drawer, regardless of gender, skill level or ability. It’s a screwdriver. And there are some folks that would have you believe that any old screwdriver will do, and that they’re all the same. I’m here to tell you, they are not. MegaPro is a company that helps prove that a good tool makes the job at hand easier. This could quite possibly be the #BestScrewdriverEver

See, when we first moved in, we didn’t have a bunch of tools. We set about slowly building up what was needed as the need arose. I bought hubby a cheap set of Stanley screwdrivers, and mentally checked “screwdriver” off the list. Then came, time and again, where that 5-pack of tools came up short, time and again, or failed. The phillips heads peeled and became useless. The corners off the flat heads chipped off. The handles cracked when dropped. There was much swearing heard and many became ballistic missiles, final resting places unknown. Over and over we had “cheap” sets fail, and worse, cheap “6-in-one” screwdrivers from the big box stores drop bits, cam out have a ratcheting gear fail. If you know our pain, I’m here to tell you It’s time to stop hurting, swearing, flinging, and rebuying. MegaPro makes, quite possibly, the last screwdriver you’ll ever own. With a handle manufactured from Triax 1120 (an engineered nyloan/ABS resin), a solid alloy steel shaft, EZ guide collar and palm-saver cap, this unit puts function and form on a level playing field and let me tell you, it functions. I once bought Hubby a nifty $30 Craftsman “all-in-one” screwdriver. It had fancy features and a supposed “warranty”. It rusted, failed, and Sears, much to our chagrin, didn’t live up to the warranty. We were stuck with a crappy, non-functional $30 paperweight. MegaPro’s 151NAS-CS is guaranteed for life, and is made to last for a lifetime. It’s solidly built, easy to hold and use, and doesn’t weigh a ton. The ergonomics are solid, and there’s no hand fatigue when used for long periods of time. And it’s made in the USA, made to the highest standards, for the home DIY’er or the professional tradesman. And it’s best feature, hands down , is the hollow-handle storage compartment that holds up to 6 double-ended bits that are made to the same exacting standards as the MegaPro itself. Simply pull on the tail cap, and in one easy action out slides the 6 tempered steel bits, ready to switch and swap without having to dig around in your pocket, tool bag or box. It comes pre-loaded with the most popular sized phillips, flat, torx and square heads, and the shaft itself can be used as a 1/4″ hex driver, too!

A bad tool makes every job a nightmare, while a good tool makes every job a joy. MegaPro makes not just a good tool, but quite possibly one of the best tools Hubby’s every owned. He has complete and utter faith in it, and it comes out and goes with him for every job or task, big or small, because he knows it won’t fail him. And this isn’t some fly by night, here-today-gone-tomorrow overseas company with no history or integrity; This is a company with 20 years of history and innovation. This is a company that will stand behind every product they sell 100%. Hubby’s grandfather had a saying, “The cheap comes out expensive”. Sure, you could buy a few cheap sets of screwdrivers for the same cost as a single MegaPro. But for me, and my money, I’d rather buy once, buy well, and know when it hits the fan, our tools will not fail us or let us down. Buying once and well means buying a MegaPro.

A Infrared thermometer is one of those items that you use more than you plan to. I have purchased several and have reviewed a few brands in the past, and I don’t let go of any of them. I make sure to store some in the garage, kitchen to the craft room.
Nubee is the non-contact thermometer business. This is what they do and they do it well. The company offers several models with different options to serve anyone’s needs. I was sent Model No. Nub8500H, Item #700819593013 to review by the company.

The Nubee Temperature gun Thermometer offers:
- Non-contact reading
- Saves Data collected
- The Thermometer can take the highest temperature of the area tested and also save the degrees at the bottom of the screen, so it’s easy to access.
- Reads degrees in Celsius or Fahrenheit
- Takes Accurate temperature readings with this laser-sighted infrared gun-style thermometer
- There’s also a switch to turn on or off the laser sight and adjust the emissivity on different objects

Emissivity (as listed on-line)– is a measure of the efficiency in which a surface emits thermal energy. It is defined as the fraction of energy being emitted relative to that emitted by a thermally black surface (a black body). A black body is a material that is a perfect emitter of heat energy and has an emissivity value of 1.

Retail Price Point: $19.88 via Amazon and qualifies for Amazon Prime free shipping. The product requires a 9-volt battery and it’s also included.

Verdict:
What I love about non-contact thermometers is their versatility. If I am baking bread, I can easily read the temperature in the oven at 110 degrees, which is the proofing setting I need and my new oven will unfortunately not read temperatures this low. When Grilling, you can read the temperature of the grates so you can guarantee you are at the correct setting for the best cooking. When it comes to crafting, I can test the surface temperature before painting. This comes in handy when you are painting and staining wrought-iron lawn furniture, as objects get hot in the sun and some of the paints I use will only level out and cure properly between certain degrees. I have also been able to use them when I wanted to upgrade the insulation in both the ceiling and walls in the home. I had cold and hot spots that affected the home’s overall temperature, making our air conditioner click on because the thermometer in the hall was reading hot when it was really not hot in the rest of the home. I was able to use the thermometer and it would accurately tell where I was losing energy. An easy fix using spray insulation and where we could, we applied the blanket/roll-out type. An easy DIY fix! The Nubee thermometer did not fail ever. I was able to get accurate readings and pass objects and it would accurately re-adjust the reading every time. Completing tasks are easy when the tools work as they should and Nubee is that tool that will continue to perform as expected every single time you use it!
