Use:

Simple to use and like any other beauty oil, a little goes a long way, Just a few drops can be applied to the skin’s surface and you want a nice thin layer, which will absorb quickly and leave your skin feeling hydrated. I’ve been using supplements now for almost 2 decades. I know what works for me and what doesn’t. I use very few because, honestly, most of them are junk and don’t do squat. Of the few I’ve taken with regularity, BCAAs are some that I feel work for me. So when Diet Standards offered to let me try their product in exchange for an honest review, I jumped at the chance. There’s some good stuff, and a little bad here, so let me explain.

Ingredients (as listed on the site):
AminoHD 1000 BCAA contains only Branch Chain Amino Acids and Vegetable Capsules. Nothing else deserves to be in your BCAA supplement. – Ingredients: L-Leucine (250mg per capsule), L-Isoleucine (125mg per capsule), and Valine (125mg per capsule) in Vegetable Capsules (Vegetable Cellulose).

-The Good-

These BCAA’s are very competitively priced in this market. You get 450 500mg capsules for $29.99. That’s a fantastic value. They advertise no fillers or artificial ingredients, and as near as I can tell, there aren’t any. I’ve opened the capsules to mix with my post-workout shake, and mixed some in with my pre-workout drink as well. No horrid taste that I can detect. As far as results, I exercise to maintain my health, strength, and fitness level, not to get fitter, bigger or stronger. So in that regard, I give the product high marks, now two weeks in, for being not all the different than the “optimum” branded product I was using before. No better, and no worse. So that should be high praise indeed.

-The Bad-

The recommended servings are INSANE. 2 capsules between meals, before workouts, and after workouts That’s a LOT of damn pills, people. Unless you’re looking to get jacked up like, say, a Ronnie Coleman, that’s massive overkill. And that many BCAA’s without an extremely intense, long workout are a total waste. Also, the capsules are kind of flimsy, which leads to the powder “leaking” out, or getting crushed easily, or popping open. No bueno. But if that’s the price I pay for a more natural gel capsule, I’ll live with it. Just keep a zip-top baggie handy if you need to transport them.

Overall, these are a tremendous value for the quality, and I’m glad I got to try them. I can say that when this bottle is done, I’ll probably be ordering another. Thanks again, Diet Standards!

I applied the Forlan Hyaluronic Acid Serum for a period of 3 weeks; twice a day, both day and at night. I washed my face and this was the second step of my daily skincare routine. I followed up with make-up and on the weekends with just sunscreen. I discontinued used of all other products and this included my retinols. I will say the simplification process was appreciated because this is an all-in-one product. You can follow-up with a moisturizer but 80% of time, I felt that the serum was enough for me. Lovely Fresh: I Love my Dog Shampoo #Review #ILoveMyDogShampoo

I got a chance to try something that seasonally, anywhere but in Southern California, would have been impossible. See, our little pooch? Let’s be honest. Sometimes, she gets a little funky. And if there’s one thing she hates (besides the outdoors, car travel, cheap kibble, and expensive toys), it’s bath time. Sure, she’ll do it, because she gets to snuggle and play afterwards, and then get a good brushin’, which is tantamount to a full body massage for her. So she “suffers” through the former to thoroughly enjoy the latter!

But in the peak of Fall? Luckily we got (yet another) bout of freakishly hot weather, which means we got to test out I Love My Dog Shampoo by Lovely Fresh. We’ve tried more than a few pooch shampoos (even one or two human ones too!) on our little girl. Some are too perfume-ey, some too drying, some with promises no shampoo could ever hope to deliver.

I Love My Dog shampoo by Lovely Fresh makes a few boasts, like it being formulated to make your pet’s skin and coat beautiful and healthy, from roots to tips, promoting overall wellness of skin and coat, removing bacteria and adding strength and shine. It also says it’s “vet recommended”, but what vet and where it doesn’t say. It also claims to leave a lasting fresh scent, but truthfully, I can’t say this was the case. While it did banish her “poochy” scent for a little while, it came back the next afternoon. Next up, was the natural ingredient claim, with oatmeal and neem. It also says it’s soap, detergent, and alcohol, but will still work up a rich lather. Again, the product fell short in that last portion, as I found myself having to use more and more product to get any foamy goodness going. As an aside, the instructions say to let the shampoo sit on her coat for 5 minutes. I had no luck getting our dog to hold still for 2 minutes while she’s wet and foamy(ish), let alone 5 minutes. Poor girl even gave me that look like what are you waiting for! Your mileage may vary here. Overall, I’d have to say there are probably better products you could use that cost the same or less. Like people, every dog is different, and what might not be great for our girl might be fantastic for yours. There’s really no way to know but to try. I’d have to mark this one as a “pass” for us. I have been wanting to incorporate Vitamin C into my skin care regimen after doing some research. In the following weeks, I will be reviewing products that will focus around brands that deliver to your skin the maximum Vitamin C and hoping to see positive results. My third product to try, is by Petunia Skincare. This Vitamin C product has Hyaluronic Acid and a short ingredient list, which is always welcoming. Other features from this like kind products that differs from previous ones reviewed, is that this one comes with a nice pump top versus a dropper. This allows the serum to get zero light when in use and/or air to help the oxidation process along; causing the active ingredient to become inert. So far Petunia Skincare has thought ahead of other manufactures.

Petunia Skincare carries a line of beauty serums to Derma rollers. A small collection, however Petunia Skincare remains focused in providing serums that aid with anti-aging and provide a powerful punch of moisture that our skin needs as we age! That’s a punch I’ll take!

Combining Ferulic Acid with L-ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), helps amplify the protecting effects these two ingredients have. Think of it as making it more powerful!

Directions:
If using toner, apply before serum. Apply on clean and damp face. Follow with regular skincare regimen and lastly, apply moisturizer to secure optimum moisture in the skin.

Yalmeh Peerless Beauty: Aloe Super Youth Eye Cream with Vitamin E and Vitamin C #Review and #Giveaway

Yalmeh Peerless Beauty, is a company that specializes in beauty products fro Men and Women. Their lines cover everything from Hair Care products, Skin Care to Cosmetic Tools and Brushes. Many of the products are simple being that they have natural and/or plant based ingredients, but remain economical.

I was able to try a product from their eye cream line called, the Aloe Super Youth Eye cream. The product contains 100% Organic Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Vitamin C. The other ingredients range from natural oils, gels and extracts to natural plant based products, even some organic based. Free of mineral oil, propylene glycol or parabens. The only preservatives within the cream are labeled as natural.

Effects: The eye cream is advertised as protection that helps treat and repair wrinkles. Also, addresses dark circles, reduction in the look of age spots, moisturizes and softens the skin.

Results: I did a 3 week trial and used the eye cream in the daytime and also at night. I figured I just replace my former brand and give Yalmeh’s eye cream it’s place. The texture of the cream was pleasant and did not leave an oily residue. My make-up glided on smoothly and did not separate hours after. I have had issues with eye creams/serums in the past where a few hours later my make-up appears as if I never blended it in and sort of floats on top of whatever base I used. Thankfully, Yalmeh played very nice and I did try different foundation brands to make sure this did not occur.

• The first week, I noticed constant hydration to the eye area and this was more visible after I washed my face. I have “dry zones” that become noticeable after washing, like my lips will look dry and so will the sides (corners) and bottom portion of my eye. Part is do to seasonal allergies and the other part is just my luck! I noticed my eye area remained plump and just healthy in appearance, followed by feeling smooth and soft when touched. I continued use.

 

• Going on to week two, I noticed the same positive results but an even tone when it came to color/pigmentation of the area. My redness and pink skin was now just matching the rest of my face. The cream sort of calms the ill effects I experience from seasonal allergies and does not allow the tearing I may get, to irritate the delicate skin we have around our eyes.

 

• Week three is here and I do feel that the product is labeled correctly when it comes to calling it a moisturizer that protects, because it does just that. I did not notice differences when it came to fine lines and wrinkles because I have very little in those areas, but protecting the skin is something Yalmeh did well an even calmed it when stressed. The Aloe, Alpha Lipoic and Alpha Hydroxy acids did their job well. These ingredients also allowed the oils and vitamins to nourish the area and most importantly, moisturize.
