B&C Home Goods Foldable Fabric Cube Containers

This week we looked at a set of 6 fabric storage cubes from Safari Foldables. I liked them, a lot. They were solid, strong, and made to last. And I thought I’d hit the jackpot when B&C Home Goods approved me to try their versions. I’m sad to report that while they’re decent, they just don’t fly as high as the Safari Foldables versions. They’re still very decent, but they didn’t blow my skirt up the way the last set did, and I’ll explain why.

On the surface, everything is practically the same. Same size, dimensions, similar construction, similar materials. But the little details are where the wheels come off the little red wagon.The sides aren’t as strong. The handles aren’t as strong. The bottom isn’t as strong. The fabric isn’t as thick. The sewing is not as neat. They almost feel, I don’t know…flimsy. If I hadn’t already tried the Safari Foldables, I’d think these were decent but I’d use them as supplements to something more solid-feeling, and not have fallen in love with them like I did with the Safari Foldables versions. Even the gray coloring is not as pleasing, more industrial looking. They do the job adeqhately, but they also lack the label window from the Safari Foldables versions. Taken together I think the B&C Home Goods 6 pack of foldable fabric storage cubes would warrant 3 & 1/2 stars, but since Amazon only likes whole stars, I’ll be generous and round it up to 4, but at $21.97 for the B&C Home Goods storage cubes, for my money I’ll spend the couple of extra dollars for the far superior Safari Foldable cubes instead.

There are a few axioms we live by around here, and one of them is that you can never have enough storage solutions. And there’s many choices out there for collapsible cloth storage “boxes”, but my new favorite is, hands down, Amaze Creations’ Safari Foldables 6-pack of fabric storage bins.

(Pro-tip: Don’t write on them, use a P-Touch so that you can reuse the label if/when the contents change) These storage bins are a generous 10.5 x 10.5 x 11 inches, so storing extra dry goods, seasonal clothes, small kitchen appliances…it’s entirely up to you, but rest assured these Safari Foldables storage bins are up to the task.

Wizzhome’s Creative Scents Fabric Storage Bin w/Faux Leather Accents

Once again, Wizzhome brings the goods with their home storage solutions. This time, though, it’s their herringbone-fabric covered shelf storage bin with faux leather accents and trim. I tell you, I’m loving these awesome and beautiful storage solutions from their Creative Scents line.

This “leather: handled bin measures 8 inches high by 9.75 inches wide by 13.75 inches deep and provides plenty of storage space for everyday items you always find yourself reaching for. With a smooth cloth bottom, it glides easily in and out of shelves, all the while looking stylish and handsome doing it. Made from a thick cardboard that then has a grey herringbone fabric bonded to it, that alone would have made it look pretty snazzy. But Wizzhome turned the style factor up to 11 by adding black faux-leather handles and accent trim, with a contrast stitching so it really pops on any shelf, counter, closet or floor. Whether you want to store you winter slipper socks, some scented pinecones in a high traffic hallway, or some magazines by your favorite cozy chair, this little storage box is right at home anywhere!

It also makes a great gift idea, and you could even stuff it with little doo-dads, snacks or knick-knacks to really make it a gift they’ll never forget. Priced at $21.90 on Amazon with free Prime shipping, I’d like to see it closer to the $19.99 price point for this size. Because while it’s sturdy and attractive, filling a couple of shelves with these will get very pricey very fast. But other than that, this is a little dream of a storage bin, one you’ll be happy to leave out for all to see.

Wizzhome’s Creative Scents 3 Piece Storage Box Set

 

I love being able to store away seasonal things when not in use, be they summer’s bikinis, fall’s fuzzy sweaters, or winter’s slipper socks. It’s like refreshing your wardrobe every few months. But sometimes just putting them on a shelf in the closet, or shoved in the back of a drawer isn’t kosher. So when the opportunity arose to try out more of Wizzhome’s fabulous storage solutions, you bet I was all over them!

And this Creative Scent’s 3 piece set is just the bee’s knees. Much larger than the last set I tried, sturdier, and this time, with lids! So now they don’t just look super, and function super, they’re stackable! No more tumbling piles of clothes from the top shelf of the closet, no more dusty, musty clothes that need to be “aired out” before wearing. Although I will advise airing out these boxes before use or storage, because as others have noted, there is a strong “chemical” smell when these boxes are new. Nothing a little time and a cedar block won’t correct though. Another issue I had is that my shipment was damaged by UPS (something they really seem to specialize in!). That makes 2 of 2 packages from Wizzhome that UPS damaged, this time rendering the largest box unuseable. Thankfully, Wizzhome sent out a replacement poste haste and I had it in a few days time. With three sizes, including a large box measuring 6″high x 16″ wide x 11″ deep, a medium one measuring 5.75″ high x 14.75″ wide x 9.75″ deep and small-sized box measuring 5″ high x 13.75″ wide x 8.5″ deep, this set has storage solutions for days! In fact, they’re so nice looking it’s almost a shame to hide them away in a closet!

My one nit to pick is the price. at nearly $60, one would expect something a little sturdier that fabric-covered cardboard. That makes a drawback of displaying them that incidental bumps by feet, knees or even a vacuum could do considerable damage. It also means that if you slightly overfill them, there’s very little tensile strength to the sides and they will bow out. But the faux-leather lids are a breeze to dust or wipe down, and the herringbone design of the fabric will go with any decor.

WizzHome’s Creative Scents 3-Piece Foldable Storage Organizers

Sometimes, things can get cluttered, disorganized, and just…out of place. And sometimes, that will drive right up a wall. I hate mess, clutter, piles of stuff with no home. So when I got a chance to try out WizzHome’s Creative Scents 3-piece foldable storage organizers, I was over the moon! To start, as I mentioned, they fold down flat so when your temporary madness of mess has subsided, these can be folded away and stored almost anywhere! The are a nice, durable woven fabric (I chose the tan “Sand Dune” color, but there’s also a “Gray Birch” as well), with strong cardboard sealed inside that holds the shape but will also flex just a little. I even stuck some little non-skid feets on the bottom of the smallest one, because he’s now a permanent fixture on the dresser. They’re that good looking!

You get three sizes, large (9″ x 12″ x 4″), medium (6″ x 12″ x 4″), and small (4″ x 12″ x 4″). The large container will fit a few small shirts folded nicely, the medium is perfect for face and hair care accessories, and the small one is good for keys, a wallet, or whatever junk you’ve accumulated in your pocket throughout the day. Sure beats throwing that stuff on a dresser or endtable, right?

If I had a single gripe, it’s that they’re somewhat small for the price. you can find similar or larger storage containers of this type for less on Amazon (and probably elsewhere). So for $24.99 (at the time of this writing), it’s a little pricey. I would have also liked to see some kind of handle or loop on the sides, but that’s a personal preference and not a complaint.

Overall, I liked these very much, and despite UPS’s best efforts to destroy them, they arrived mostly intact and have all been put to good use. Even so, WizzHome offers a “Lifetime Guarantee” so if they should start to come apart thanks to UPS’s rough handling, I feel confident WizzHome has my back. I recommend these WizzHome Creative Scents Foldable Storage Containers, and I hope they find a place in your home too!
