In the beauty world there is one thing that has really triumphed when it comes to brand awareness……sample sizes. Whether you call them deluxe size, trial size, travel or just plain samples, being able to try and not invest the full dollar amount towards a product has really yielded dividends both for the consumer and brand-names. I see beauty items like medications, in where you have one popular product that works with many but not all. I have used foundations that get out of the world ratings and then I use it and have a what are they talking about moment. This is why I love being able to try without getting the full sting and not feel bad if a product is not for me.
HydroPeptide believes in the same. A company that is brave enough and confident about what they make, that they decided why not make travel size products for consumers to try and see if they like them. If you become a fan, you can then later buy the full size and also the travel size for those weekend getaways.

I was sent the Anti-wrinkle travel set called, “On the Go Glow“. The set comes with:
- Exfoliating Cleanser
- Pre-Treatment Toner
- Purfiying Mask
- Eye Authority
- Face Lift
- Everything you need and even a beautiful and useful size pouch to carry the HydroPeptide products along with any mini shampoo and conditioners to complete your travel to-go bag.

Verdict:
The regimen is simple. I welcome that not only when travelling but when trying a brand. I always follow the directions to see if the products yield the claims made. This kit left nothing untreated and except for adding my spot acne cream when needed, I just used the HydroPeptide set exclusively. The solutions are light when applied and like the eye cream and face lift, my skin was left feeling fresh after about day 4 of use. By this I mean that I had a natural and healthy sheen without any ill effects of transitioning over to using HydroPeptide exclusively. The mask is out of this world when it comes to clarifying and not over drying. The mask really needs a light application that is thin and even and I am not kidding, your skin’s surface changes after removal. I mean serious positive changes that also helped any acne/blemishes I was suffering from pre to post breakout. The entire set played well with my skin and even though I am not a fan and believer of toners, I can say the refreshing and balanced pH was something that changed my mind about my opinion of toners. This toner is also a “pre-treatment”, so it’s a way to prep your skin for absorption of the coming products after you have exfoliated and washed your face. I get it! It makes sense with this system and I did not view it as an add-on that was wasted. The eye cream is thick but because you use the dab method and a 1/2 a pea size, just with the warmth of my skin, the product quickly was absorbed. I was left with just a thin layer that I call “good left-overs” because it’s there to protect and continue nourishing my skin as needed. This system by HydroPeptide is an AM and PM kit. Many anti aging systems are geared towards only night use because of the ingredients maybe being to harsh for morning and day time use. Some acids tend to activate worse in sunlight but that is what sunscreen is for and I don’t ever skip on treatments of this kind because just one safeguard means you can get double the benefits, so don’t skip on SPF and you will be fine. I noticed the eye area was my biggest improvement and while I would love to boast that just get the eye cream and go, I have to realize I used everything as directed and that unison of products is very likely the cause for the positive effects. Using 1/2 a pea size on the eye cream and just a pea size for the face cream, I could see the deal with the kit. Just look at the ingredients on the site and these are serious products when it comes to results and free from sulphates to artificial fragrances and anything that is added as fillers with most beauty brands designed towards anti aging formulas. I never understood why companies add ingredients that cause aging and/or irritations and still advertise the items as anti wrinkle care. It’s nice when a company like HydroPeptide comes along and removes the fillers and just works on what you want, your skin and getting the most of the results for the money you invested. The “On the Go Glow” kit is just that and a great starter at just $78! I have spent more on nail polishes in one visit and walked away less satisfied.

Valentia skin care is a brand I have shared before and one of the aspects that I appreciate about the brand, is they innovate. The skin care line has zero opportunity of growing stale, boring, or not offer the user the latest and newest. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want good skin care formulas changed if they work, but I also want a company like Valentia to keep searching and offering us ingredients that perform better. This keeps my skin looking better and better every year!
Valentia, has introduced a new clay based mask. I love clay and mud based masks but some tend to dehydrate my skin a little too much. This mask differs from the usual 15 minute packets you pick up at the drug store. You have properties that detoxify congested pores but do not over dry them, which tends to make the pores then over produce sebum….the yuck stuff you started to want to get rid of in the first place. Valentia then took it another step further by adding ant-aging ingredients like CoQ10 and even Spirulina (that green stuff I eat), which helps not only with hydration but with regeneration. Talk about feeding your face (but in a good way)!

Ingredients:
Deionized Aqua (Water), Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera), Kaolin clay, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), GlobulariaCordifolia Callus Culture Extract (plant stem cells), PalmitoylOligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetapeptide-7, UndariaPinnatifida Cell Culture Extract, Ubiquinone (CoQ10), Hibiscus Fibers, Cranberry Fibers, Sodium Magnesium Silicate, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Cellulose Gum, Purified Smectite Clay, Cranberry Fragrance, HaematococcusPluvialis extract (Astaxanthin), Organic Rosa Canina (Rosehip Seed Oil), WildcraftedPanax Ginseng, Wildcrafted Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea), ArctostaphylosUvaUrsi (Bearberry), Organic VacciniumMacrocarpon (Cranberry extract), Organic Viola Tricolor (Violet), WildcraftedPrunusVirginiana (Wild Cherry), PunicaGranatum (Pomegranate), VacciniumAngustifolium (Blueberry), Citrus Limon (Lemon Essential Oil), Organic Rheum Palmatum (Rhubarb), Phenoxyethanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin, Spirulina Maxima (Spirulina), MacrocystisPyrifera (Kelp), VitisVinifera (Grape Seed Oil), Organic CentellaAsiatica (Gotu Kola), Wildcrafted Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail), WildcraftedTaraxacumOfficinale (Dandelion), Wildcrafted Geranium Maculatum (Wild Geranium), Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, Sucrose Stearate, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Lecithin, Tocopherol.

Retail Price Point: $25.00 via Amazon or on Valentia’s site. On Valentia’s site, the product would be 35% cheaper if you use the promo code provided below.

Verdict:
I expected another clay mask that just would help keep my skin clear and bright. I used the mask twice a week and found it not only gentler to my face than like kind masks on the market, I explored further and started treating other areas, like my chest and back. Not only is Summer here even though it’s been cloudy in Southern California. I see this as an opportunity to get “beach ready” (well, more like pool ready) skin a little sooner than needed. My chest tends get over dry from the chlorine water and the sunscreen does not hydrate my skin, more like suffocates it. There is a huge difference with something smothering your skin with oils and protection needed to not burn, but this does not equate moisture. I need something to get me back to square one…..sort of a reboot for my skin. I have doing outside projects and two places have been getting the brunt of the sun, my back and my waist, you know that area where your shirt lifts a little and I get my yearly tanned colored stripe that tends to be darker than the rest of me! My back began to have little clogged pores by day two of applying sunscreen and doing “the good girl” thing of reapplying every 2 hours. My back had it, so when I put the Valentia detoxifying clay mask on my face, I went ahead and put what was left on my hands, on my shoulders. Waited 20 minutes and rinsed. The first thing I noticed, no itch. My skin gets itchy when I take clay masks off, heck it gets itchy some times before and I the only way of fighting that annoyance, is by rinsing early. It’s a reaction to over dryness. Yes, I then quickly try to nourish my face but the next day my t-zone, which is on the oilier side tends to look dryer and even peel at times. I experienced none of those side effects with Valentia. My skin and especially the problem areas, matched the rest of the “normal skin”. The red bumps on my shoulders also never bloomed to fully clogged pores from the sunscreen. The mask does what it says, it detoxifies and replenishes! Also, Valentia was kind enough to provide a tub of the mask versus fighting with those 1 to 2 time use packets from the drug store that no matter how small I cut the opening, I always get a crazy squiggle I can never catch in time and lands straight into the sink! No waste, it works, and no funny packages. Thank you Valentia!

But I hope yours is just beginning.

Today is a sad day, friends and followers. Today is the day my Soul Journey comes to an end. Well, kind of. You see, Soul Journey Jewelry was so kind and so generous they sent a plethora of goodies to review. But alas, the day has come when I am reviewing the last of these gemological goodies. And don’t think for a minute the last is the least. In fact, it may be the most!
This one is a doozy, a wrap-style bracelet called Sweet Serenity, packed with amethyst, tiger’s eye, and Botswana agate faceted gems. We’ve covered the benefits of two of these three gems here, and here, so feel free to step into Wom-derful’s Way-Back Machine and take a peek at the bountiful benefits these gems may provide. Amethyst is new to this party, though. A type of quartz whose name dates back to the ancient Greeks, amethyst is a semi-precious stone often found in birthstone jewelry. Traditionally light violet to deep purple, it owes it’s color to irradiation and other trace “impurities” from surrounding rock. Thought to impart a sober mind, it is the stone of love that can carry the energy of fire, passion, creativity and spirituality, all the while tempering your moods with, well…Serenity.
Packed together in one gorgeous 22″ long bracelet, it easily wraps around my wrist 3 times, or once around my neck! That’s right, this bracelet moonlights as a necklace (or is it a necklace that doubles as a bracelet?), so how you wear it is up to you. Hand-crafted to order in California, USA, by someone who clearly spent ample time on this labor of love. The golden braided nylon sets off the lavender amethyst, the browns and golds in the tiger’s eye, and the striated rainbow that is Botswana agate perfectly. The end “clasp” is even rocking a Botswana agate. How cool! Faceted gems from 6mm all the way up to 10mm, customized wearing options..I mean, what’s not to love?!
I want to take a minute here, though, to personally thank Soul Journey Jewelry and Jill Boylan for the opportunity to review and promote these pieces. I love to give a nudge to small businesses, and especially ones who work as hard and deserve your business, as Jill most certainly does. I’m sure if she wanted to do these “cheaper” and of lower quality, she could outsource her production to other countries, but she doesn’t. She keeps everything here is the U.S. and never skimps for a minute on the jewelry she’s making for you. If there was even one company I emplore you to support, it’s Soul Journey Jewelry. The world would be a better place if more people followed their example.

Our Soul Journey continues today with another jaw-dropper, “Faith in Yourself”, featuring amazonite and aquamarine. For you March babies, this one is also on sale on Open Sky. 😉

Surprisingly, amazonite doesn’t much come from the Amazon anymore (although you might find some on Amazon.com, tee-hee). No, after coming almost exclusively from Chelyabinsk, Russia it now comes primarily out of Colorado, USA. A type of microcline feldspar, it is easily fractured and therefore not so easy to work with. Sometimes called the “Stone of Courage”, it empowers and embolden while tempering rash behavior a day soothing the soul. Lauded for healing and prosperity since Mesopotamia times, this is one to not be taken lightly.
But we’re not done yet. This bracelet also features aquamarine, one of the” Precious Four” precious gems of this planet, the others being diamond, sapphire and ruby. Heady company indeed. A type of beryl (emerald is another) mined in Columbia and Brazil, this gem is the official gemstone of those born in March and is said to bestow peace, serenity and truth upon it’s wearer. This is a powerful 1-2 punch of a bracelet, all the while just looking stylish and pretty on your wrist.

Like all of Soul Journey’s jewelry, this is hand made and woven with golden nylon thread, finished with jeweled ends and features 8mm faceted gems. Make to order in California, USA, this is a winner from tip to tip. From the Mini Power bracelet collection, this one is made to fit almost any wrist, and is fully adjustable from 7-9 1/2″. Did I mention it’s on sale on Open Sky? Like, right now? At around $40, there is NO reason to pass up on this little beauty. Go. Get it now. I’ll still be here when you get back.

I do not enter contests often but when BeautyUndercover had a giveaway and I saw the colors, I signed up hoping to win. I did not even look the colors up because they were all gorgeous, so I figure I like heels, so I’ll go with the lacquer named Head over Heels.
I won and it’s a double win because I picked a fabulous color. Glitter nail polishes are beginning to blend in my head to the point I am shying away from picking any more up because I may own it already or a cousin like it. Head over Heels is in a class all it’s own and not attached to a season or even holiday. It’s beautiful and I love the ease of application. Head over Heels is a shade, which is part of the Limited Edition named Love, Roxie Collection. The base is smooth and allows you to glide and disperse the flecks of glitter like you always imagined you would do, but once the brush hits the nail……well, I find myself dotting here and swiping there and even wiggling glitter off. It’s the game of take away, where I have some nails perfectly glitter-fied and others look neglected, so I apply more and then it goes too much the other way. I appreciate the smoothness with Nailtini’s formula, and the color in the bottle looks exactly as it should when applied. I now have harnessed glitter control powers!
I applied 2 coats and it dries fast, so you can set up quickly and bedazzle your nails at anytime of the day or night. You can apply straight from the bottle with no base color and because I’m Head over Heels when it comes to shoes…..my toes got a very needed pedicure.
On I went with finally coordinating my hands to my feet….not something that happens very often even though I mean to.
Check out The Lacquer Cabinet and the Nailtini collection of limited nail polishes to the everyday beauties we all like to wear. Shades are made in the USA and I love supporting a California Company! The formulas last long and application is a cinch. I also have a little sugar to sweeten the deal because I believe in saving bucks! You can order below and use code BUC20OFF and order a single collection for 20% off, that makes it $20.00 and that includes shipping….so no funny stuff. The code expires on April 30, 2014. You don’t waste gas going out and the box is delivered to your door…..now, if I could only get a hairstylist delivered the same way, I’d be golden!
You can find the limited editions to the everyday colors on:
