We are all battling Mother Nature, the environment and our own genetics to keep our skin and our faces looking their absolute best. Every single tool we can use to assist us in this battle is essential, and while some are beyond most of our means to own or use on a regular basis, some are within our grasp and can be owned for a fraction of what repeated professional treatments could cost. The Lift Care Cosmetics Lift Wand is such a device.
To start, the Lift Wand is a high frequency machine similar to what you see in high-end beauty salons. Used as an alternative to harsh peels, or painful dermabrasion, or prickly wheels and lasers, it’s being praised by industry professionals for it’s ability to purify, stimulate and rejuvenate the skin, as well as being a safe and gentle alternative. It brings moisture up to the surface of skin, increases blood flow and circulation, and helps oxidize impurities. The sealed glass electrode creates an inert gas (most likely neon from the reddish appearance, though they say it’s argon gas) safely contained withing the glass tubes, and can help minimize the appearance of pores, blackheads and blemishes. There’s virtually no sensation or pain, just a slight tingle with initial contact, similar to a small static electricity zap. There is a slight smell as it oxidizes the impurities on your skins surface, but there’s no redness or irritation after a treatment. The wand is light so there’s no fatigue from prolonged use, and contrary to other warnings I’ve read online, at no time did I feel the glass electrodes were in danger or breaking or shattering while in use, or removing the various electrodes from the wand. You get four in the package, a comb one for hair (to keep it lustrous and healthy-I have yet to try that one), and large one for the t-zone, a “mushroom” one for the majority of the face, and a tiny one for spot treatments. I will say I noticed less breakouts and less oils in my t-zone. I was overall happy with the device’s performance based on that alone, but I saw minimal improvement of fine lines and wrinkles, and no change to scars or stretch marks.
If I had one complaint, it would be the plug. The device isn’t UL listed and isn’t polarized in any way, be it through a larger prong on one side or a third grounding prong, and that could lead to device malfunction and possibly shorting out of the wand. That’s dangerous and should be corrected immediately. Hubby went with a best guess and made sure the writing on the plug was “right side up”, but it’s just that: a guess. Also, one of my electrodes at first seemed to be malfunctioning, but it came on at my last try before contacting the company. It is a 20 watt device, and does include the Argan oil recommended as Step 1 in their 2-step process. In the end I saw some improvement, but there’s also room for improvement with their device as well. I’d stop just short of a 5-star review because of that.
