Ozeri 360 Oscillation Tower Fan

We’ve tried a few fans from Ozeri, because let’s face it, in California, it’s not actually “cold” all that often. And this Ozeri 360 Oscillation fan is just phenomenal in almost every regard, and might even be my favorite.

To start, this fan is whisper-quiet at it’s lowest setting, much more so than the other two Ozeri fans I have tried. There are a ton of functions controlled by either the on-fan control panel or the included IR remote control, like an 8-hour timer and 3 different pre-programmed airflow patterns. There’s almost too many choices! The remote is markedly improved over the last generation, with quick responses to the lightest touch from any angle. The 360 Oscillation Tower Fan from Ozeri also uses cylindrical motion technology with over 200 staggered micro-blades, making the operation quieter than traditional fan blades, and usually reserved for much more expensive brands. The oscillation is (of course) up to 360 degrees, with options for 60, 90, and 120 degrees as well. It’s slim and the oscillation is smooth and quiet as well, so the form factor and obtrusiveness is minimal and not attention-getting.

However, it’s not all wine and roses. The base is flimsy, and can be terribly unsteady on carpeted floors. It also lacks non-skid or non-marking feet on the base, which can be a concern with softer natural tiles. This is really something that, at $90.79, should absolutely be included. The base needs to be upgraded immediately, because I’d hate for a fan as nice as this to be damaged by toppling over due to a poorly-designed base. Unusual, because the other 2 fans I’ve tested from Ozeri had rock-solid bases. At any rate, the value is undeniable and the operation is smooth. Assuming you can live with or work around the issues with the base of the fan, you’ve got another excellent Ozeri product.

Ozeri Green Earth Non-Stick 12″ Wok

We use dinner time here at my house to “travel the world” and eat foods that are inspired by many exotic ethnic dishes. One of the favorites, for Hubby at least, are our trips to “the Orient”, and thanks now to Ozeri, we have a new spin on our old classic with their fabulous Green Earth non-stick Wok.

Ozeri’s smooth non-stick ceramic coating is is second to none, and where we’ve had issues within months with some of the larger company’s non-stick offering (Calphalon, I’m looking at you), we’re going on a year with some of our Ozeri Green Earth pans working like the day we got them. Wok cooking will also made a huge difference with our stir-fry dishes and got a nice sear on the veggies while leaving them crisp, and browned the meats very well while leaving them tender. And clean up was a cinch, I’m talking a rinse with hot water and this pan was nearly clean! The handle stayed cool even with medium-high heat, and there was enough real estate in the pan that I could feed us both of us with a single pan! Made from heavy die-cast aluminum, this pan is made to last and provide years of use. And Ozeri’s patented ceramic coating is 100% PTFE and PFOA free, so no harmful chemicals are going to be leaching into your food! And yes, for those of you wondering, it has a magnetized induction stove safe base.

If I had one thing that was a slight problem for me, it was storage. This is a big pan, bigger than the 12″ sizing would lead you to believe, and I had a hard time getting it in with my other pots and pans. It’s not heavy, it’s actually quite light for it’s size, it’s just so large I may need a shelf of it’s own. And because it’s Ozeri, you can be sure they only want 100% customer satisfaction and will go out of their way to get you there! If you enjoy cooking with an Asian flair, I can not recommend this pan highly enough! You simply must have one in you kitchen!

Ozeri’s Green Earth Frying Pan 3-Piece Set

I always have my cookware radar tuned for a decent set of non-stick pans because let’s face it, they just don’t last anymore and eating the non-stick coating is bad for your health. And I don’t care what anyone says, there’s always a place in my kitchen for a good non-stick pan because there are times you just want the ease, simplicity and convenience of warm, cook, wash and go. I was so looking forward to Ozeri’s Green Earth frying pan set, especially since I recently tested and loved their other Green Earth pan so much.

But while there are definitely some areas where this set will shine, it fell pretty short of the mark I set for a must-buy pan set. For starters, the Greblon ceramic non-stick coating is slick and probably the most non-stick of any pan I’ve had, ever. But that is a double edged sword, in that while nothing stuck at all ever, it also would not brown or even remotely sear anything to save it’s life. And I know what you’re saying, you don’t buy non-stick to sear anything, but every non-stick pan I’ve had since the mid-90’s has allowed me to get a decent bit of browning on the meats I cooked in them, even the prior Ozeri Green Earth ceramic non-stick pan, but not any pan in this set. Even the Asian-inspired Fried Rice from Trader Joe’s would get a crispy crust on the bottom, but not in these pans. If I had to hazard a guess, the waffle-like texture on the pan’s surface might create air pockets while cooking that does enhance the non stick properties but also won’t allow any decent browning. So, things like scrambled eggs and pancakes might be dynamite in this pan, but browning meats will just not happen. The pan washed up like a dream and the heat-resistant silicone handles on these pans are oven safe to 350 degrees and make handling even the hottest pan no problem. The slippery non-stick coating is 100% PTFE, PFOA and APEO free, which means no heavy metals or chemicals were used to manufacture it, which means it’s a healthier alternative to older generations of non-stick pans. The pan is light thanks to cast aluminum construction, and while it heats quickly and evenly, the heat does quickly dissipate. You get a 12″, 10″, and 8″ size pan in this set,so there’s a size there to accommodate any size household.

There are some real nice features to these pans and I can totally see them being indispensable for certain cooking styles and certain kitchens, but unfortunately mine just isn’t one of them. It’s pretty rare when an Ozeri product is a miss like this for me, but I’ll grade them on the curve and say that while it doesn’t work for me, it might work better for others, and as always, you just can’t beat Ozeri’s dedication to customer service. They stand behind their products 100% and customer satisfaction is their number 1 priority, so I encourage you to give these pans a try and see if they work for you!Let’s not forget the included “value added” green felt pan cozies, which make storage simple and easy allowing you to “nest” you pans without any feat of damaging the ceramic non-stick surface!

Ozeri Green Earth 10″ Ceramic-Coated Non-Stick Frying Pan

I cook every day. Sometimes twice a day. So I need tools that will keep up with me, and not give up the ghost in a few weeks time, but stick around for the long haul. It’s not easy finding products that meet these metrics, but so far, this Ozeri Green Earth ceramic-coated frying pan is up to the task.

Some people will try to convince you that there’s no place for a non-stick pan in a serious kitchen. Well, I take my kitchen very seriously and there’s always a place for a good non-stick pan. From quick scrambled eggs, to a bag of asian-style fried rice, to some frozen veggies stir-fry style, the times you want a quick, good, home cooked meal but don’t want the hassle of stainless steel or anodized aluminum and the cleanup involved. Ozeri has utilized an “ultra-safe ceramic coating inspired by nature which is 100% PTFE and PFOA free”. So it should be a “healthier” alternative to traditional non-stick pans and the fumes they can release. But it has the same drawbacks as traditional non-stick, in that searing (and really, all really high heat cooking) is just not possible, because it will break down the non-stick coating quickly. It does still brown very nicely without drying out the food, and glazes with a high sugar content didn’t burn at all. And preheating the pan is a no-no. Which, depending on your preferences is a plus or a minus. And no metal tools either. But, if you’re like me you have a drawer full of plastic and wood kitchen tools so that’s not a big problem. And the coating on the Ozeri Green Earth pan stands up to those plastic and wood tools just fine. The base of the pan is even magnetized for induction cooking ranges too! The Bakelite handle feels flimsy and has some give in it, and even though Ozeri boasts heat-resistance for it, though I can’t readily find what temperature it’s safe to, so I’d not use it in the oven out of an abundance of caution.

So far, after 2 weeks of nearly every day use this pan has held up to all the meals and concoctions I’ve thrown at it. Nothing has stuck, or even given a hint that it will. All it needed was a light coating of peanut oil before the first use, and a teaspoon of so of oil when cooking for browning or flavor. It cleans up quickly, with no residue or scrubbing at all. Did I mention the Ozeri Pan Protector included at no additional cost? Yeah, that’s just awesome. So stacking any future additions to my Ozeri Ceramic pans will be a breeze! And it’s competitively priced with competitors, all backed by Ozeri’s stellar customer service. I can see no reason to not add this Ozeri Green Earth Ceramic Coated Non-stick Fry Pan to you kitchen.

Ozeri Ultra 42″ Adjustable Oscillating Tower Fan

We are no strangers to Ozeri in this house. In fact, we’re huge fans, no pun intended. They make some very high quality products that are priced very competitively with competitors, and stand behind their products 100%. So it should come as no shock that their latest offering to us is also a slam dunk, the Ozeri Ultra 42″ Tower Fan.

Not our first Ozeri fan, but quickly becoming our favorite. We had an opportunity to really try this fan out before the weather in SoCal took a turn and the temps dropped all on their own, and we came away impressed. Much like our last Ozeri fan, this one really moves a lot of air and cools down a space quick. It has a very quiet but powerful motor, and it’s adjustable height and oscillation means you can customize it to any space. It’s also got a slim, slender profile, so it’s not taking up a bunch of space in a small room, and blends seamlessly and stylishly into the background in a large room. It looks as fancy as it functions, and it functions so well too! The included remote control is, in my opinion, much better than than the included slim remote included with the Ozeri 3X, and is more substantial. Where one had to be closer and almost directly in front of the fan to get the 3X remote to function, the Ozeri Ultra’s remote works from anywhere and at any angle. The base is wide and sturdy and means your fan wont be tipping over, even when put of high pile carpet like ours. There’s cord storage in the base so you don’t have to worry about a long unsightly cord on the floor to trip over. # speed settings, 90 degree oscillation, quiet almost noiseless function, wireless remote, and a big, bright LCD screen that even tells you what the ambient room temperature is! You can even assemble it without a single tool! There’s just so much to love with this new Ozeri Ultra 42″ fan that I might send the 3X Tower fan to Hubby’s workout room from here on out!

It might not seem like the weather is optimal now for a tower fan, but trust me when I tell you it’s better to grab the products you don’t need now (but will later!) today than be the one left wanting in a few months when the temperatures start to rise and you’re left scrambling to get a product you could have had on hand already! Ozeri OZK1 Elite Ceramic Chef’s Knives Set

I make no secret about spending a lot of time in the kitchen, and I’m always game to try new things there. I was very curious about ceramic knives, and tried a set earlier this year that had some serious issues for all-around usability. So when Ozeri decided to let me try their set, I was 100% on board. I’m glad I did, because these knives are superior to my last set in every way.

Ceramic knives are a great alternative to stainless steel knives. They stay sharper much longer, are much lighter, and can usually be had for a fraction of the cost of a good, traditional stainless steel knife. They are made of 100% ceramic, which makes them impervious to rust and corrosion, and moisture, oils and acids found in foods. They’re well balanced, perform well for a variety of tasks, from slicing, chopping, dicing and paring. They’re easy to clean have ergonomic non-slip handles that make your kitchen tasks a breeze. This set includes a 5 & 1/2″ Chef’s knife, a 5″ utility knife, and a 2 & 3/4″ paring knife. They are polished to a mirror finish whuch makes clean-up a breeze. The form of the non-slip handle encourages a proper grip on the knife and the angle makes all cutting tasks no trouble whatsoever, and because they are so light, there’s no hand or arm fatigue if you’re doing a lot of kitchen prep work.

I would very much like to see a larger chef’s knife in the set, as well as a larger paring knife. While the paring knife is 2 & 3/4″, it looks and works much smaller. There’s also the fact that as sharp as ceramic knives are, you can’t resharpen them like traditional stainless steel knives. And, even though they hold an edge up to 10 times longer than steel, ceramic knives can be brittle and chip easily with improper storage (Not a problem with these Ozeri OZK1 Elites, as they come with a protective plastic sheath for each blade) and cutting through things like bone or hard pits. Also, you can’t use the edge to crush garlic like I do with my steel knives.

These Ozeri OZK1 Elite knives are a great addition to my kitchen “arsenal”, and I’m glad to have them. They’re very sharp out of the box, plenty so for any and all kitchen tasks both big (carving a pot roast), small (chopping up veggies), and delicate (thinly slicing tomatoes without squishing them). You know you’re getting a quality kitchen tool set, and Ozeri stands behind everything they sell 100%. Ozeri’s GreenEarth Fresh Spin 4.24qt. Salad Spinner

Around here we consume a lot of greens. Well, I should say that I consume a lot of greens. Hubby somtimes acts as if they might cause him some harm. But I eat more than my share, probably more than anyone I know. Kale, lettuces of all shapes and sizes, broccoli, squash…you name it, I eat it. And one thing they all have in common is a need to be washed, prepped, and stored dry. I’ve tried other brands of spinners, all of which fell far short of my beloved OXO spinner. And then Ozeri went and offered me their Swiss-designed GreenEarth Fresh Spin Salad Spinner. I may just swoon.

With a fast-spinning ergonomic pump handle, non-slip base and table-ready BPA-Free clear bowl, this spinner has displaced my OXO and become my go-to for big heaps of lettuce. It’s size is deceptive from the pictures…It’s huge, at 4.2 quarts. Before what took me several rounds of “rinse-spin-pour-repeat” now is all done at once. The spin action also doesn’t cause the entire bowl to become unbalanced and threaten to wobble off the counter and scatter my greens to the four winds. It’s quite and only takes 2-3 pumps to achieve maximum velocity. And the brake button brings everything to an immediate halt with no issues, squeaks, squeals or noise. What I love best, and had become a major gripe with my OXO, was the spinner shaft that comes down and takes up valuable real estate inside the bowl. That’s a thing of the past with Ozeri’s GreenEarth Fresh Spin Salad Spinner. All that space in there is free to use, and use it I did.

Having tried out a few automatic wine openers in the past, I wasn’t sure if the newest version from Ozeri would be quite up to snuff. I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything I liked about my past wine openers, I liked even more from My new Ozeri Maestro.

To start, the fit and finish of this unit is superb. It looks simply amazing just sitting on my countertop.This new generation motor is a marked improvement from the last one, which with stubborn corks might sometimes destroy the cork or bind badly. Not with the Maestro, it powered through any tough to open cork we had, and didn’t obliterate it in the process. The second generation battery is also much better than the last, as we have yet to have to charge it after a couple weeks’ use. Another big plus is the big, bright LCD readout that tells you how much juice is left in the opener. Because nothing’s worse than going to use an electric appliance or gadget and it….just…..power……dooooown. That is a thing of the past with Ozeri’s Maestro.

But wait, there’s more! The Maestro has a built-in non contact thermometer that reads not just ambient room temperature, but the temperature of the wine itself! How cool is that? Don’t worry, the Maestro will tell you. The unit is decked out in a high polished stainless steel, with a matching stainless steel base, and an included foil cutter that tucks away neatly into the back of the charging base. It even comes in a high class black storage/gift box, for those special people in your life that can appreciate quality. And let me tell you, for folks with arthritis and grip issues, this Maestro is a god send.
