When it comes to anti aging products, we have a lot to choose from. You can go the slow and patient route by using a product like retinol that takes time to see results. With retinol the results are permanent only if you continue to use the product with the idea as you age, you will need to up the percentage and most times end up using a prescription grade formula. Then comes the instant changers, like I like to refer to them. Products that do not work on a long term basis that provide the changes that stay, but more like formulas that give you that pep (think what energy drinks do) and give you that “lifted” look instantaneously. The last options revolve around appointments, doctors, fillers, to surgeries and that is just not a route I am ready to literally face with my face. My solution is combo driven. Meaning I use acids and retinols to work on my face for more permanent results but I also use the instant type for when my face is sending out an SOS. Everything comes in these surgical looking vials that resemble a injector but minus the needle. Verdict:

Price of a product never equates quality and/or results. This runs so true in the beauty world of products that most times many products out there have just found a fancy way to sell us water or a cheap oil for more than it’s worth! This angers me but anger causes wrinkles, so I try not to think about it 🙂 . When Dynamic Innovation Labs offered to send me their Dynamic Sonic Instant Eye Lift to try out…..I of course was excited. I want instant results and the Dynamic Sonic Instant Eye Lift has a rating of lasting 6 to 8 hours. That’s a lot of lifting for a few drops of product and I was not convinced. I receive the vial and use is simple, you just apply a few drops and watch the effects. Make sure not to rub the product in and the idea is to get a thin film on while holding a face with no expression. Yeah, act like a statue! Okay, it made me laugh but I had to hold it in to not be left looking like I am cackling 6 to 8 hours. Once the product dries, you can then apply make-up as you would any day but keep in mind in not messing (rubbing in too much) in the areas treated. I did just that and the formula did not interfere with my make-up. I actually skipped on a concealer!  Now, the results. I was surprised on how you watch your face sort of lose that tired look within seconds as the Dynamic Sonic Instant Eye Lift starts…..well, lifting. It does not take a lot of time for the solution to dry and you do see results. I look like I sleep well and my life is perfect if you see me! I like that. I don’t want to look like I feel sometimes and especially on days where 4 hours of real sleep is all I obtained. No other product in the instant category has ever lifted and worked like this one from Dynamic Innovation Labs. This is why I rarely ever review any instant anything on my blog, due to the high failure rate. No fails here. Yes, the product costs $395.00 or $375.25 with subscribe and save, but it 100% works. I have overspent more on products combined that failed in the instant and even the long term effects categories. You know how it feels waiting 7 to 10 weeks to see results and sticking to a beauty regimen that long and then seeing zilch occur. You then add time wasted and money……well, don’t get me angry because remember…..it causes wrinkles. At least order the sample and see for yourself the younger you again!

Shopping at Target just got better for me and I am guilty of bargain shopping but it’s only a real bargain if the product works. With Derma-E, I get the best of both worlds, the products are not super expensive, so any additional savings just adds up instantly and the products perform well. I don’t leave feeling guilty because I wanted to take better care of myself and with Derma-E, this just does not happen. The company is open about what their products contain and also do not oversell how they perform. You know what every bottle, tube and jar will be able to do for you without any “photoshopped like” picture that will never yield what real world results do. Honesty, in the beauty world has always been hiding behind an asterisk and you will notice the Lotus is Honest. We finally have a real Winter in Southern California and it has been cold, windy, dry and now wet. My skin has been feeling the stress from both the climate and the holidays. Derma-E Hydrating Day Creme- This little creme is my everyday go-to moisturizer. Any little dry patch that an acne gel caused, this creme will fix in no time. I suffer from blemishes and breakouts when my stress goes up, so I apply topical acne treatments that kill the pimple but everything around it too. I try to dot with a q-tip but that never works and I flip so much in my sleep that I am lucky I never ended up with acne anything in my eye! The Hydrating creme from Derma-E will even out the skin’s color and any little “peelies” of skin will either go back and stay with the rest of the party, or I can simply rub softly enough that they will come off. I then can look normal and like nothing happened. Derma-E Hydrating Night Creme- I started a new technique where I apply a light layer of night cream around the healthy edge of my skin, that is between the pimple I want to kill.  I then apply the dot of acne gel onto the pimple itself and this has reduced the side effects of redness to peeling that would be the end result of what would happen to the skin closest to the blemish.  This Night creme created a barrier of protection and kept my healthy skin safe.  I also found this creme to work well enough on my skin that when I needed extra hydration, I would add a few dots to my other moisturizer to pump up the effects.  Great for around the lips after exfoliating because we tend to neglect that area between our skin and lips.  I always treat my lips to achieve smooth results but I noticed as I age, that edge where I apply lip liner……well it could always be smoother!  Available at Target for $25.99, before any discounts apply.

The company focuses in effective ingredients and skips on the packaging, so the consumer pays more towards what is inside the bottle, versus what is outside of it! Derma E, is not limited to just ant-aging regimens and if you checkout their website. they have everything from sun care, hair and scalp, to wipes, mask, serums and anything to satisfy your skin care needs.  The company has a long history in making products with natural ingredients, which have always been Vegan friendly and Cruelty-Free.

I was sent a jar of their Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Retinyl Palmitate Crème, which is part of the Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Essentials line. Focused on aging skin and helping with cell rejuvenation via Retinyl.

Verdict:
I tested out the product for 10 days to get an idea of how well it satisfied my skincare needs. The creme is thicker in texture than most products of like kind, however I noticed that if I use a small dab, not only does it cover the treated area well but it’s more than enough for treatment. I apply Retinyl only to the areas that I feel are my problem areas and because Retinyl palmitate tends to have an oily texture, I know to go light with application. Being a past Retinol user, my skin has also acclimated to any adverse effects and I no longer experience any sensitivity or redness from such ingredient.  I applied to where I suffer from fine lines, so I focused in the under eye area and forehead. The creme is smooth and does aid with softening the skin, which not only hydrates but protects well. With the mixed weather we have been experiencing from Autumn, the warmer days into cold nights tend to stress my skin out. The Dema E creme made sure to always keep that layer of protection present. Retinyl palmitate, is effective in the “turn over” process, meaning skin cells shed quicker and it’s almost speeding up the clock to be able to rejuvenate quicker and produce a newer layer of skin that appears more flawless. The Retinyl palmitate formula from Derma E is filled with antioxidants and a selection of oils to insure the user gets the best chance at recovering a more useful appearance. I did feel the creme was thicker of course than my serums but after 2 days of getting use to the amount I needed to accomplish full coverage, it then got easier estimating how much to get out so it would not affect my make-up. I was satisfied with the product because the claims made are true and this jar is not pricey, plus gives the user real results! The creme from Derma E has 10,000 I.U’s, so it’s on par with the recommended amount for a user to experience results. The only con I have is the product coming in jar form, as I prefer tubes that keep fingers/nails away from the product but I do have a plastic spatula I use just for these type of containers. Other than that, I was happy using and testing a product that works and I know I can easily fit into my budget because it’s affordable.

Solvaderm: Eyevage an Age Defying Eye Rejuvenation Treatment #Review #Solvaderm #Eyevage

 

The second product I was sent from Solvaderm targets the sensitive skin around the eyes. Eyevage, is intended for use on “mature skin” and also for people that are experiencing problems in this area.

Eye skin can be tricky and some of us may have drooping of the eyelids, while most tend to want to target the area underneath the eye. This area is where people tend to experience issues from under-bags, puffiness, dryness, fine lines to the ever disliked crow’s feet. In other words, the skin there tends to show the most stress because of it being more sensitive than skin in other areas of your face. This also means a product needs to be strong enough to address the above issues but kind enough to not cause irritations.

Eyevage by Solvaderm, combats the aging we experience around the eye area and also helps keep the less stressed areas from rapidly showing the signs of aging. You end up with a fresher look that is associated with younger skin.

Ingredients (as listed on the website): Purified Water (Aqua), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Squalane, Hyaluronic Acid, Phytonadione, Arnica Montana Extract, Oxido Reductases, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Protein, Hydrolyzed Rice Bran Protein, Laureth-7, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Polyacrylamide, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Eriobotrya Japonica Extract.

In the list of ingredients, the first few are identifiable so for the sake of not breaking down the obvious, I will address the ones that are usually not listed in eye creams and why Eyevage stands out from other products that are of like kind. Squalane, is usually derived from olive oil and in the list you find it comes after a few other oils/emollients listed. After that you find Phytonadione listed. Phytonadione, is Vitamin K and this vitamin is associated to be beneficial to the blood and circulation. Dark circles is a result of how veins and capillaries appear under the skin. Think of when a sheet of thin fabric is draped over a dark wooden table. The dark wood and it’s pattern is not distinctive through the sheer material but you still get a dark shadow that shows through and more in the areas where the grain is darker and deeper in the wood. This is what the thin skin under our eyes reflects towards the outside. The Phytonadione combined with other powerful ingredients like the antioxidants found in Apricot oil, and this can help diminish that dark appearance.

Retail Price Point: $74.99 for a 0.5 ounce bottle of Eyevage, which comes with a pump action top that allows the product to remain free from exposure to air, bacteria and even light.

Verdict:

I used Eyevage for a period of 3 weeks to see how well it would perform with the problems I experience. My skin issues in this area are puffiness due to allergies and even though I’m fair when it comes to skin color, my veins in this area do not reflect through to give my eyes a dark circle appearance. It’s the one of the things I have been lucky in and even though my allergies are bad, I never rub my eyes because that can cause the capillaries to become damaged and even break. I just was addressing moisture retention and attempting to avoid fine lines and lessen the one I have under my left eye (yeah, I don’t even wrinkle evenly). The formula is light from Eyevage and again applies easily. My skin absorbed it quickly and eagerly. Week one passes and I am happy with the moisture effect and how it keeps my skin plump and supple in this area. Week two arrives, and I still remain content with the results and I notice improvement towards the end of the second week on texture. My skin looks smoother. I get to week three and I remain satisfied with how Eyevage is performing because the product has kept the skin around my eyes nourished and problem free. The only short coming I can find is the lack of a retinol. I know the eyes are sensitive but in my case I can tolerate a small percentage in this area but I do know others can not no matter how much they attempt to “desensitize” that area. Some people can even apply every other day and experience more negative effects than any positive ones from the retinol because their skin just can’t tolerate it. Mine can, so I will be adding a very low amount of retinol here just to increase the benefit of reducing small fine lines and making sure (an insurance policy) I don’t develop any new ones. This is just a personal choice in my part, I am however happy the Eyevage treatment is a good enough of base product that I find it worthy enough to deliver that little bit of retinol to this area because it’s not something I waste just on any product. The base product has to be good enough on it’s own and Eyevage is!

Solvaderm is a company that provides a large array of beauty related products and treatments. If your skin is ailing from age, sun damage, just plain gravity, Solvaderm most likely has the solution to your skin’s needs.

I was sent a skincare product from their line of anti-aging regimens called Stemuderm. The solution is geared to aid with skin issues that may arise at any age from prevention to correction needs. The bottle stated this was a concentrated formula and “professional strength”, something I always like to get on anything to help with this thing called aging that I am not very fond of :). Aging, is great when it comes to gathering knowledge but not so great when it comes to gathering creases of the wrinkling kind! Stemuderm contains peptides that help with preventing and also slowing down the process of creases and furrows from deepening. So, if you have a wrinkle, this formula is like a laundry softener and will relax the skin. In then comes collagen production that helps increase elasticity and aids with toning. Stemuderm is like a skin work-out minus the sweating (or do we call it glowing?). The product contains several moisturizing agents, which soften the skin’s surface, nourishes it and also gives you some plumping action because I am all for trying to fight what gravity brings to the party.

Verdict:

Okay, the price point scared me at first but then I realized how many bottles I was dropping when it came to replacing while I tested this product out.  I literally was able to drop all of them except my sunscreen.  That made the regimen simplified and easier, both in application and my pocket book.  The scare from the price point started to evaporate but will my wrinkle and fine lines do the same?  It’s hard just dropping everything I use because I have attachment issues, like I’m attached to not having many fine lines and I’m starting to accept the one wrinkle in between my eyebrows.  I don’t like the dude but I’m starting to accept he wants to stay and be part of my face, even though behind his back I’m trying to annihilate his presence (still talking about the wrinkle 🙂 ) .  I cut out all my other products cold turkey and in week one I noticed nothing.  No diminishing or improvement.  In came week two and I noticed my skin has a glow and it’s not from the 90 degree weather and even though in California we are experiencing a drought, my face knows nothing of it.  The moisturizing agents, I am liking because they do work on a deep level but do not feel heavy on the surface.  My skin quickly absorbs the product and no hitting heads when it comes to cosmetic application afterwards.  Stemuderm actually is improving my skin’s surface because my foundation is gliding on and I’m using less.  No acne breakouts or clogged pores from the product either because I never get how skin is suppose to be improved by some products and then you get clogged pores, which result in small marks. You then use the same poor quality product to diminish the marks that clogged your pores in the first place.  It’s a never ending cycle and Stemuderm does NOT play that game.  So far I’m liking it!  By week three I noticed my lines around my eyes are still there but flatter and not so obvious.  I play a yo-yo game where those lines show up one week and for two weeks I fight them off and then I have a lazy third week, where my skin gets ignored because life got busy.  Stemuderm allows my life to get busy without ignoring my skin in the process.  I like this 1 bottle for my skin and 1 bottle for my sun protection and the rest is just “my crayons” (i.e. make-up).  It makes life easier and the cost may sting at first but look at your drawer of regrets……you know the one that has all the bottles, jars, and even has emptied testers and squeeze packets.  They add up in $$ and drawer space.  With Stemuderm, that goes away and I like having zero regrets when it comes to purchases, plus fighting wrinkles in the process!
