Majestic Pure Oils: Essential Therapeutic Grade Peppermint Oil #Review #PeppermintOil

IMAG2071

In the world of essential oils and the like, many companies like to make things fuzzy by using terms as, Pharmaceutical Grade and/or Therapeutic Grade. Who grades or certifies these oils? No one! You have trust the supplier, unless you get into food grades where the FDA grades and then you hear terms as Virgin, Extra Virgin and the like. When it comes to real certifications, where you pay an agency for them to come in, inspect and grade your materials, you then see such certifications like the “Non-GMO” and Organic labels. It comes down to sources and knowing them, so I am a bit critical when it comes to oils and I always think about what will I be using them for and price point attached.

Majestic Oils, is a company that carries an array of products and especially oils. They have “Carrier” oils, which get used in addition to essential oils. Think of a candle and the wax is the carrier, where the fragrance would be the essential oil. I was sent a bottle of their, Peppermint Oil to try.

Benefits/Evidence of Peppermint Oil in Essential form:
Beyond it’s soothing scent and being able to clear our nasal passages, Peppermint oil can provide you with many benefits. As I researched, I found many use the oil for stomach problems like nausea and vomiting, however I did see it could worsen heartburn. While many find the oil to sooth the skin, adverse reaction is a possibility if you are sensitive to the plant. You will need to do your research and I went by scientific findings versus just anecdotal evidence. I like balancing out what people report and measure it against what can be proven. I found mostly the essential oil was safer if used as a way to relieve nasal congestion but keeping in mind that for some, it can cause headaches.

IMAG2068

I kept the aforementioned in mind and used the product in oil essential form to re-freshen the home, since we keep doors and windows shut close doing colder weather. Being that I suffer from allergies and always congested, I did find mixing the essential Peppermint oil with the Fractionated Coconut oil from Majestic Pure, was the perfect match! The oil filled the home with what I forgot was the true scent of peppermint. I got so use to faux smells that I forgot how calming a scent with cooler notes can be. It did freshen up the home, which I found pleasurable and that alone made me feel good. Think of what lavender can do and peppermint shares the same aromatherapy properties. I actually enjoyed it and threw anything away that claimed to be peppermint scented and was not. The essential oil by Majestic Pure also goes far! I just needed to use a few drops with the other oil, to achieve that perfect balance.

IMAG2072

Retail Price Point: $18.50 for a large 4 fluid ounce bottle

IMAG2264

My small and only Con- The dropper is included and while it’s glass and I love it…..it’s just sort of thrown in with bubble wrap into a box where the bottle fits well but not with the dropper. The dropper comes apart easily, as that is how it arrived. Being that the oil could be used on the skin and such, it just did not seem like the most sanitary way to include this. Maybe just adding it to the bottle and including the smaller (non-dropper) top would have been wiser. I cleared the dropper with alcohol because it just seemed as the smart thing to do 🙂  This con would not keep me from buying though!

Soul Journey: Welcome Spring with the Faith in Yourself Bracelet

SP32-20140221-024302

Our Soul Journey continues today with another jaw-dropper, “Faith in Yourself”, featuring amazonite and aquamarine. For you March babies, this one is also on sale on Open Sky. 😉

IMAG0365

Surprisingly, amazonite doesn’t much come from the Amazon anymore (although you might find some on Amazon.com, tee-hee). No, after coming almost exclusively from Chelyabinsk, Russia it now comes primarily out of Colorado, USA. A type of microcline feldspar, it is easily fractured and therefore not so easy to work with. Sometimes called the “Stone of Courage”, it empowers and embolden while tempering rash behavior a day soothing the soul. Lauded for healing and prosperity since Mesopotamia times, this is one to not be taken lightly.

But we’re not done yet. This bracelet also features aquamarine, one of the” Precious Four” precious gems of this planet, the others being diamond, sapphire and ruby. Heady company indeed. A type of beryl (emerald is another) mined in Columbia and Brazil, this gem is the official gemstone of those born in March and is said to bestow peace, serenity and truth upon it’s wearer. This is a powerful 1-2 punch of a bracelet, all the while just looking stylish and pretty on your wrist.

IMAG0364

Like all of Soul Journey’s jewelry, this is hand made and woven with golden nylon thread, finished with jeweled ends and features 8mm faceted gems. Make to order in California, USA, this is a winner from tip to tip. From the Mini Power bracelet collection, this one is made to fit almost any wrist, and is fully adjustable from 7-9 1/2″. Did I mention it’s on sale on Open Sky? Like, right now? At around $40, there is NO reason to pass up on this little beauty. Go. Get it now. I’ll still be here when you get back.

Eslor Soothing Refiner and Cleanser Wash Review

DSCN3198

As a blogger, you always wish for that quintessential time that you are united with a product, manufacture, company, ect., which will literally blow you away with the results. That moment that reaffirms why you love to do what you do…..and my experience with Eslor has been just such a moment. I received a lovely pitch from the company in July via Twitter. Then, one afternoon, I was surprised with a large parcel at the end of the month that included every single item in their product line. Even some marketing materials that thoroughly explained how everything works with a color brochure, and even samples to share with friends and family. Pretty basic, error proof, and very much letting the products speak for themselves. I looked up the price points, and that is when things as a blogger take a turn for me because if you are high in dollar value, I have high expectations for results. It’s an even exchange in my world, where I pay good money and expect soft skin but if you expect me to pay well,  you better include a magic wand or something. This is also the longest I have tested a product line because I gave every single item a 2 month testing out period. That is 2 months of dedication and taking my skin’s health serious. I thought if I was diligent on washing my face, moisturizing, a serum here, a cream there and even a little boost of retinol on fine lines meant I’m serious about what I do.

Not!

The parcel included 12 items and not every one needs to be used on a daily basis but 12 bottles to wow me and redefine serious skin care. This is the kind of wow where you really expect the promises to come true type of skin care. Let’s say I spent so much looking at my skin that I must admit I experienced the foggy mirror effect and a few nose bumps because I was making sure things worked as stated. To not overstimulate your senses, I will be posting about 1 to 2 Eslor product reviews with the full details.

Let’s begin sharing my Eslor Adventure…

A little history about the line: Eslor is a line developed by a pharmacologist that wanted to provide his wife with products that were derived from nature, meanwhile still providing results. Made in the United States with their headquarters in San Diego, California. The products all contain a very upfront approach where ingredients are clearly listed on the box and you have pluses like being paraben free and gentle. I really like that idea of nature meets science approach because I believe a company that produces beauty products needs to not ignore “one side” in order to provide the best product out there for consumers. I want every chance I can have when it comes to results and it can come from a lab or a tree, but please work is my approach.

DSCN3200

We start with the one cleanser Eslor carries called the Soothing Refiner & Cleanser. The product’s job duties are not just washing the surface your skin but also restoring the balance (ph). Even though the product is advertised as gentle, please don’t confuse that for low performance. You do get a deep clean but the type that does not leave your skin dry and deprived from moisture. Sort of counterproductive to strip your skin of the good oils and nutrients when you are combating age and the elements to reveal a healthier you. I just want to look the best I can look and not feel like my skin was pulled back further than it should go. You know the look. It’s not a good look.

Instructions for Use: These are pretty basic and you get a generous amount of foam to create a gentle lather. In other words, you feel the product as it disperses and it does not leave you hanging halfway through your wash where you are trying to get more off your forehead to finish washing your chin. I used it both with and without make-up on and not only looked clean but felt the surface of my skin was clean enough to continue onto the other products.

Ingredients: Aloe Vera Gel, Sage leaves and Carrot extract to Rosemary and even Hops extracts. You also have friendly glycerin to Cocamidopropyl betaine, which is an ingredient just like it sounds, derived from coconut and aids with the creation of foam in beauty products and also serves as an antiseptic. Non-irritant and helps keeps things sanitary without harsh chemicals. Like most Eslor products, you also get more for benefits that are not as common with other facial washes, as I found many Eslor products do more than their counterparts. Alantoin, is also present and I like this ingredient because it increases the water content that can be delivered to your skin while exfoliating and you are left with a “new skin” that is healthier than what you removed. Full of moisture and very smooth.

Results: I like that the wash does more than just clean the daily dirt off your face because I want products that can deliver more for me doing less or the same activity. I have combination skin and like the wash states, it is good for ALL skin types. My face felt clean and with prolong use, my skin did improve and did not go through the dry spells I get during intense weather, when sometimes I wash my face three times if I am going out. I did not get that dryness on my neck (where my throat meets) and before it was a game of keeping it at bay while this wash made that problem non-existent. I suffer from acne spells too and this wash did not cause any break-outs and there is truth to getting “balance” out of this product when some think a washed face is better than a non one, this wash actually cleaned without stripping my skin but no oiliness came a couple hours later because it really does balance your skin enough to not misbehave as mine tends to do.

Price Point with Product Details: A 2 fluid Ounce bottle retails for $28.00 and I sadly have spent more for “targeted” washes that never exactly did well for what they were supposed to have a bulls-eye on or much for the rest of my face.

New Tree Hut Soothing Foot Cream in Aloe and Peppermint

Part # 2 of this Wonderful Tree Hut Experience:

DSCN2886

We experienced the exfoliation and now comes the moisturizing, as the new skin you resurfaced needs to be nourished, and this is where Tree Hut’s Soothing Foot cream in Aloe and Peppermint comes in.

DSCN3085

The cream has a fresh minty scent that is lighter than what I experienced with the Exfoliating Foot Scrub. This is a good thing because I don’t want everyone to be hit by a mint wave when they go near me. I am one of those girls that wears heels, sandals, toe peeking shoes but dislikes a greasy foot left by many lotions and moisturizers. The last thing I want to leave in a shoe is residue of any kind or worse, have a foot that does not stay in place while I walk. I have to look like I know what I am doing in these heels! Many times I tend to cheat and only moisturize areas that will be seen to avoid the residue dilemma. I then come home and have to do a “sock treatment” so the rest of my foot not only resembles the rest of my cheater parts, but so it gets moisturized. In comes this new moisturizer that feels like velvet when you apply it and since my hands benefited from Tree Hut’s exfoliate, I was going to do the greasy test before venturing my footy into a heel or shoe of any kind.

DSCN3087

Greasy Test Report
Okay, after 15 minutes I forgot as I needed to type and catch up on e-mails and it was not until an hour later that I recalled why I smelled so nice. Yes, the lotion did hypnotize me it seems but my keyboard more importantly did not have paw marks. No grease or residue left behind. I had a date that evening and that meant I’m wearing a pair of my nicer heels and I did not slide, or feel like a film was suffocating my foot. My toes in these heels peek out at the tip and not only did they look pretty, they looked like I take care of them on a regular basis NOT showing evidence of my previous cheating ways. I got home and the inside of my heel was as it should be, clean and I remind you this is Summer so if anything was going to be left behind, it would have been on that very hot evening. I showered and felt my feet, which felt soft and nice……still looking pretty and like I have been taking care of them for weeks, not just one mid-afternoon.

The above alone makes me happy I found a lotion that nourishes without the muck. Then comes that feeling of fear, like “Do not stop making this lotion Tree Hut!” I’m a recovering foot lotion cheater that now has had a taste of the other side and I don’t want to go back!

DSCN3086

Like many of Tree Hut’s products, this soothing cream contains Certified Organic Shea Butter, Aloe Vera and Natural Peppermint Oil. The cream nourishes and not only provides visible results like I stated above, but your feet (and my hands) were provided with a source of vitamins and minerals. You get a soft cooling effect that feels nice after the warm exfoliating effect but not an unwelcoming cold that over lingers. Think freshness!

Tree Hut Exfoliating Foot Scrub in Peppermint and Sugar

DSCN2886

I rarely pitch companies but after experiencing their last product, I was hooked so I sent a line over and asked Tree Hut if they would kindly send me something from their line to test. They were very generous and sent me a second bottle of the renewing hand cream in Moroccan Rose, which I reviewed prior.  I also received two new products and below is the first one.  They are a duo, so make sure to catch the second review shortly!

DSCN3082

Peppermint & Sugar Exfoliating Foot Scrub-

First, this is could be considered aromatherapy along with exfoliation. The scent wakes you right up but in a pleasant way….no jolts here as it does smell nice and yes, also delicious. Think spa with a crisp mint scent that just evokes the word, “clean” when you smell it. The product is clear in color with beautiful sugar crystals throughout, it just glistens when you squeeze the scrub out. I love that the product dispenses so easily from the bottle because not only is it more sanitary versus a jar, it keeps the product fresher. You have certified Organic Shea Butter and 100% Real Sugar, with Natural Peppermint Oil.

DSCN3084

What you feel with the scrub when it hits your tired feet, is a slight warm feeling as you exfoliate. It’s gentle but most important, is how well it performs. My skin was left soft and renewed, no lotion has ever been able to penetrate and produce the results this scrub alone did. I always focus too much on exfoliating my face but tend to neglect or just not think of passing that same method to other parts of my body. My feet looked and felt new! I know the description stated it would leave the skin on my feet smoothed to silky perfection but I thought it was just a play on words because it is more difficult to better the condition of your feet so rapidly. Tree Hut meant what they said. I thought I felt the “silkiness” because I used my hands to exfoliate my feet, so I was unsure who was silkier here. I had my Husband verify and the claims are true…..my feet were extra smooth and nice. As an added bonus, so were my hands. The peppermint also relaxes you, so you get to workout some of that everyday tension that our feet feel from wearing heels to just standing and walking. Great product that I will be repurchasing when I’m half out because I don’t want to run out. I used under a teaspoon per foot, so my little tootsies will be getting the spa treatment for a while out of just one bottle.
