To say that I’m a fan of U.S. Art Supply would be a gross understatement. Everything they make is quality, affordable, and they provide everything that a professional artist, or a weekend art warrior like me, could ever want or need. And it’s all just a click or two away. And then they go and offer me this amazing Wooden Artist Tool and Brush Box and make me fall in love with them all over again.

Hubby, bless his heart, has fully embraced my rediscovered crafty-ness. He’s bought me brushes, pencils, pens, paints, and tools, and I was just about out of places to stash them all. He even donated his old plastic art supply box from high school, but it was woefully under-equipped to handle my supplies. And you could probably imagine the “decorations” a bored 13-year old might doodle on there in art class. So it didn’t exactly look stunning in my little craft closet. Thankfully, U.S. Art Supply’s Wooden Artist’s Tool & Brush box looks so spiffy, I don’t think I want to hide it away in the closet anymore! With 4 separate easily-accessible sections, 3 of which are accessible from right outside the box, you have plenty of room to store all your supplies but also keep them within easy reach! The top hatches slide open, the bottom drawer is generous, and the compartments that are under the top hatches are deep enough to hold just about anything! Made of 100% solid wood, no particle board or verneers, and with wonderful craftsmanship, it’s built to last for years and look awesome doing it. The leather-wrapped handle on top is really a gorgeous accent as well, and the brass fittings and hardware are a nice touch.

My first box was slightly damaged from shipping and the bottom drawer was permanently, hopelessly stuck. Not to worry, U.S. Art Supply’s staff is so courteous and helpful they had a new one out and in my hands in a matter of days. No muss, no fuss. I love U.S. Art Supply’s products and service, and this Artist’s Brush and Tool Storage Box is a winner!

Ohuhu’s Canvas DSLR Shoulder Organizer Bag

It’s kind of nice to have all your camera stuff in one place, especially when you’ve upgraded to a DSLR system and all the various sundry lenses, filters, shrouds, flashes and other stuff that come with it. And unless you buy one of those bundles that costs an extra $150, you usually don’t even get a bag to store the camera in, let alone the accessories. Thankfully, Ohuhu rides to the rescue with their nifty Canvas DSLR Shoulder Bag & Organizer.

What I liked best about this bag is it looks and feels very much like a simple duffle bag, and doesn’t scream “Steal me!!” like a branded, fancy camera bag might. It’s soft and pliable, but with the semi-rigid non-marring foam inserts, and adjustable foam dividers (with velcro attachment edges), you can safely store, carry, and customize your bag to fit your camera and accessory needs, and have space for plenty of other goodies like your phone, a water bottle, maybe a small point & shoot, whatever! With zippered, and snapped compartments all around, there’s ample storage solutions for everything you could possibly need or want to carry with your camera. The convenient shoulder strap makes carrying it a breeze, but there were times I missed a simple handle on the top to carry also, but that’s a minor personal quibble, and after a couple of uses, I didn’t miss it at all. And the buckles are adjustable to fit any amount of camera, accessories, and almost any configuration and still snap closed securely. But it doesn’t end there, because if you remove the shock-proof foam inserts, this bag can be your carry-all duffle for just about anything. The water-resistant canvas also means if you happen to hit inclement weather, you won’t be freaking out about your expensive electronic gadgets getting soaked and ruined!

The one negative for this product is the price. For the same money or less, you can find shoulder bags (even Nikon and Canon ones!) on Amazon and elsewhere. But in my experience, Ohuhu makes a quality product, and I can safely say I’ve never had a major issue or failure with anything they’ve made. I feel perfectly safe entrusting my DSLR camera and accessories to this bag, and I think after trying it out, you will too!

Ohuhu’s Hardwood 12-Belt Hanging Organizer

Ohuhu has a lot of products that spans many different categories, and I’ve been very fortunate to try out quite a few. And while I appreciate the high dollar, high value products they sometimes send, what I’ve found to be the most useful and clever are the ones that I might have overlooked or just passed right by, like this Ohuhu Hardwood belt hanger.

I don’t have a lot of belts, and I don’t own many scarves because it’s California, and even when it’s the dead of winter, we get 90 degree days. So on it’s surface you might find yourself wondering what possible use I could have for this belt hanger? It does do perfectly adequate for my few scarves as well as my and Hubby’s belt, even if his big, thick leather belt and big steel buckle made everything completely list to one side. Plus, this hanger tended to “grab” things that were hung in close proximity, and after a couple of days came out of the closet. Sitting there on the edge of the bed, looking all sad and unused. Well, when I saw it just lying there, it flashed through my head: Laundry hanger!!! See, I have quite a few unmentionables that need air drying. And lining all the door jambs in our house with hangers to hang my lingerie is just gauche. But this little guy? Boom, 12 bras or undies hung perfectly spaced out, with no sharp edges to snag things, and rust-resistant rounded polished hooks ready to hang under the nearest ceiling vent. What sometimes took me days had my stuff dry in hours. I’m in love! It’s also made of solid, strong hardwood, so it will last, and last, and last. The top hook will fit easily into any closet hanger, and even turns so that it can be hung just about anywhere!

Look, maybe this isn’t what the Ohuhu Hardwood Belt Hanger was intended for. Maybe my habit of re-purposing things had finally gone around the bend. I don’t care, because I have this dream of a laundry hanger that makes air drying my delicates a breeze, and I regret nothing. I love my Ohuhu Hardwood Belt Hanger, and I think you’d be surprised just how useful a thing it can be for you too!

Ohuhu 5-Level Storage Organizer/Wardrobe

Ohuhu is quickly making a name for themselves in all manner of products and categories, and their 5-Level “Non-Woven Cloth” storage wardrobe is an ambitious product that could be very useful and come in handy in the right situations.It does fall a little short in some respects and while I still think it’s a decent product, there’s definitely room for improvement.

To start, the “non-woven cloth” (more like paper, really) is really thin and delicate. Because the fit and finish of the metal tubes and connectors is not the absolute finest, you must exercise extreme care when putting the cover over the frame, lest you rip it. Mine came with some damage, but not so damaged that it meant it was useless. The metal framing tubes are a little fragile, and assembly took Hubby, by himself, about 40 minutes, mostly because, again, you have to be gentle with the components and the instructions were, shall we say, lacking.

Individual sections can be a little rickety, and the unit depends on the strength of the entire product assembled as a whole to provide some stability. Once assembled, the unit is not at all flimsy, and does look quite handsome in almost any room. It’s functional for a dorm, or small closetless room, while being large enough for many various items but compact enough that it’s footprint doesn’t take up the entire room. The whole unit is light enough to moved easily by just one person, but I’d advise against moving it with full shelves. The “fabric” shelves also cannot hold a great deal of things, nor very heavy objects either, so be forewarned. At $44.99 (at the time of this writing) I feel it’s a little pricey, considering I don’t see the unit lasting very long, but I still wanted to give this Ohuhu 5-Level Cloth Storage Organizer a 5 star rating.

What stopped me is the overall customer service. As I mentioned before, my cover came with some small cuts and tears from manufacturing and shipping. I tired contacting them through Amazon, and received no response. I tried through Facebook, and after a few days was told to email them directly. I emailed them, and to date have received no response. That’s concerning because there’s multiple reports of shipping damage and thankfully, Amazon stand behind their customers 100%, but it’s disappointing for a company that makes so many wonderful products has such lacking customer service skills. So I had to knock off a star, but the product itself is pretty handy, useful, and practical.

Ohuhu Clear Acrylic 3-Drawer Organizer

No one hates clutter and mess more than me. It bothers me so much it makes my skin crawl and itch. When I got a chance to try out Ohuhu’s clear acrylic organizer, I was over the moon. Finally, no more little crippy crap on my counters, rolling everywhere, rolling behind the dresser, or falling on the floor. I think this little guy is a keeper!

Ohuhu thought it through with their design, as well. Clear acrylic means you can easily see what’s where. They even included little pads for the drawers that not only keep your stuff safe, and keeps the drawers from getting scratched, but filter away dust, dirt and makeup schmutz to the bottom of the drawer, safely away from the stuff in it. It says it’s a cosmetics organizer, but I’ve found it useful for my crafting supplies, as well as office supplies. It comes in two separate sections, so you can split them up or stack them as your needs warrant. The drawers slide easy, and there’s more space than you’d expect in there. As a cosmetics organizer, it beats a bathroom drawer by a country mile and keeps everything withing easy reach, all the while keeping it safe from the occasional splash of water of spritz of hairspray. And it just looks too cute.

I would recommend this for anyone tired of a drawer or countertop full of mess and clutter, or for a dresser to organizer for your keys, phone, watch, rings, or even for your desk that has pens, paperclips, post-it pads and markers rolling all over. There’s really no limit to what this awesome Ohuhu Clear Acrylic Organizer can do!

Smiley360: Gorilla Glue Shipping and Storage (Packaging) Tape #Review #GorillaTape

I recall when Gorilla Glue first came out on the market, it changed how I made one thing stick to another! Nothing was like it and trust me when you tried to un-do what you stuck together, nothing bonded as stronger.

When Gorilla tape came out with a series of tapes to fit your needs, I was game! If the glue impressed me and I continued to purchase adhesives from their brand, there was no reason for me not to try their tapes. Then came the claim of needing just 1 strip. Okay, I can stuff a box like no one can……does that mean one strip of tape can hold well enough for an hour, a day, or if I touch the box does it pop open? I had questions, so when I was offered the mission to try out the tape, I was thrilled.

 

Retail Price Point: About $9 to $13 depending on where you purchase and I found the rolls on Amazon, Home Depot to Lowe’s, where Lowe’s had a nice $8.97 price tag.

Verdict:
Testing a tape is easy, it either works or it does not. There is no middle ground and that made my reviewing so much easier. I have been shipping products out and also cleaning out rooms. I’m simplifying my life I say, but I’m really cleaning out drawers that are filled with stuff I do not need. You know those drawers that you treat like the bottom shelf at the grocery store. You know where you rarely ever grab anything from and I have drawers that I can’t recall the last time I opened them and much less what exactly is in them. I had 3 boxes and two were super stuffed but the lips of the edges still touched and in my book, that means the box can close. Yes, I had to use force to make one close but that is besides the point. I start the tape and this stuff is thicker and it’s sticky part has serious power. Like I think it exfoliated my finger tips because I left some really good impressions of my finger prints where the tape started. I do the “just one strip” test and the box holds. I hear no cracklings of the box slowly opening and I then walk away. Hey, I’m not staying around for when this box spills it’s guts! I forget about it and two days later when I’m moving the boxes into the garage, one box opened and of course it was the lighter of the three. The one with 2 strips of normal packaging tape going one way and two more going the other on each outside edge, is also holding. Mr. Gorilla tape is holding with one strip that just seals the edges that met. No sign of weakness and I can move the box normally and not like it’s made out of porcelain, so it won’t pop. I say the Gorilla came through and did not lie!

We all eat. And food isn’t cheap. Especially fresh food. Nothing’s worse than buying some beautiful produce or fresh fruits only to see it toast a few days later. Ozeri seems to have a sixth sense about what to send me to review, because they asked me to review their Storage Container set, called the INSTAVAC Green Earth storage set. 8 pieces (lids and containers) that at first glace might seem rather ordinary. But look closer, these containers have a fantastic feature that sets them head and shoulders above your everyday storage container.

See that little green doo-dad in the center of the lid? That’s their patented pressure valve that with a small press on the lid, evacuates excess air to keep your fruits and veggies as fresh as the day you bought them. Air is the enemy of fresh food, as it causes food to oxidize and go bad. Short of expensive electronic gadgets, there was really no way before to push the air out of your containers. We own a vacuum sealer and while it’s great for meats, or even some cheeses, it’ll squash just about anything else, and the bags aren’t cheap by any stretch. So we’d been resorting to zip-top baggies and the usual plastic containers that leaked, let air in and out, and were generally a pain in my rear to store.
