I have been a member of Influenster for several years and love the VoxBoxes they share. I was beginning to think I was stuck with Virtual Vox Boxes for life when my dashboard had 4 going and no real products. I then received that Influenster e-mail, which makes you smile. I was getting a Maybelline VoxBox featuring the Vivid Matte collection. Hooray! I have come back to the VoxBox arena.

Maybelline’s Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid has been spreading like wild fire and especially when some people shared it was a great copy cat to the Kylie Cosmetics’ line. Am I curious about the line? Yes. The price? No. Hey, I have other things I have my eye on and one thing I have plenty of is lip glosses, lip crayons, lip palettes, oh and the old fashion lip sticks (remember those 🙂 ). So, I keep buying because colors change, seasons change and it really is the one item that I don’t mind splurging a $10 here and there to see what the buzz is about. Copy cats can be colors and not always formulations and so far the two colors I received, #10 Nude Flush and #35 Rebel Red are vivid indeed. The collection features 10 colors in total and retails for $7.99 a piece. A pretty fair bargain!

Verdict:
First, I was a bit puzzled by the formula. I blamed the plastic tube for the semi-gloss like finish the colors seemed to cast. I then open the first tube, the Rebel Red and the pigments are vibrant and just saturated with color, but not like any matte finish I have ever seen. I’m into paints from artistic to just plain old house paints and deciding on finishes is where I get stuck sometimes, because some rooms shed a different amount of light from our windows. The Vivid Matte collection would cancel all that, it would not matter what light or amount of it, from real to just coming from a bulb…..these beauties are not Matte. I don’t stop there because so what it’s not a real matte? I did feel they were still pretty. I open the tube and you do get a fragrance from the formula. It’s not faint and noticeable where the Nude hue is more like a sweet floral scent and the Red hue closer to a perfume/cosmetic scent. So far, okay. I apply the Rebel Red. Everything I have been rebelling against just went out the door. The consistency of the product is thick and opaque with a gloss finish. Not a translucent gloss by any stretch and a little goes a long way with at least this color. It’s a night color for me or at the very least a color I can mix with another if I feel daring in the AM hours. The product has a nice moist finish and not goopy like I was afraid it would feel like.

Next, comes the Nude that has more of a purple note to it versus a pink or pale beige. There are no yellows or oranges in this nude color, it seriously owns purple! The less I apply, the more I feel it appears light enough to be called a nude like product but I mean this is me getting the wand out and using the tip to apply 2 dots at the top portion of my lip, and two on the bottom. There is no wand application going on here. Again, moist and the scent is more welcoming off this product than the former color. I prefer the Nude Flush over Rebel Red because maybe my full head on rebel days are over or I just need a slighter tan to not look so pale in this red. It’s starting to look more like Corvette Red on me. I do like the formulas though and found that application via a lip brush allows the product to flow better against the lip and you get an even finish. Again, these are opaque and not matte in finish, with the red having a more semi-gloss to it but the colors are vivid all the way!

Being part of the Influenster network, allows members to qualify for VoxBoxes. My latest one arrived in late December, which featured an array of Slim Fast branded products. Being the new year we all want to lose weight or at the very least get rid of that holiday poundage brought on by cookies and treats. I gained 6 pounds in the last week of December because I behaved from Thanksgiving to Christmas but once Santa came, he brought treats, candy, chocolates (I’m surprised I did not consume the stocking) and it seems I ate them all between Christmas and New Year’s Eve!

I’m pretty good at restricting myself and believe with all the advancements in food today, that leaving food as it is, meaning less to zero processing allows us to eat pretty much anything (with portion control) and not suffer the consequences. I eat my weight in salads and I’m not even a fan of most dressings, as I think they tend to drown the freshness out of the produce as it is. I love avocados and find them to be nature’s dressing. They are creamy and never ruin a salad like a fake creamy dressing can. I have those days though where I am in a snacking mood or just running short on time, so I pick the brands I trust carefully. I look for meal replacement or snack products that are not full of fake sweeteners or loaded with sodium. Finding real ingredients is “my thing”, so let’s see how the Slim Fast VoxBox did.
The Slim Fast VoxBox included:
- SlimFast® Advanced Ready to Drink Shake in Vanilla flavor
- SlimFast® Advanced Nutrition 100 Calorie Snacks in Sour Cream & Onion Baked Crisps flavor
- SlimFast® Advanced Nutrition Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Meal Replacement Bars
- SlimFast® Advanced Nutrition 100 Calorie Snacks Drizzled Crisps in Cinnamon Bun Swirl flavor

First, I tried the items that were easy to munch on and that was the Sour Cream and Onion Baked Crisps to satisfy the salty urges and for the sweet cravings, I tried the Drizzled Crisps in Cinnamon Bun Swirl. First thing I noticed with both bagged products, was the large amount of “dustings” in the bag. I call that the powdery and broken up bits in a bag that barely resemble the whole product you see pictured in the front of the bag. Like the posters for drive-thru burgers, my product did not resemble the picture on the bag. The Sour Cream and Onion crisps had the higher amount of “dustings” that I wondered if I should just use the contents as a batter coating! I taste a pinch-full of what these crisps use to be and the flavor and texture resemble closely to those chips that come in a canister….but more broken up. The odd part was when you ate the product, it tasted good enough to satisfy a chip craving but when you drank water, you had an odd aftertaste that lingered. The taste was not like potato or the sour cream and onion coating, think more milk solids or dry milk and it was what it tasted closely too. Each bag is 100 calories and states it comes with 18 to 20 crisps. I am not kidding when if I say I got 4 whole ones and that is counting the ones that were 3/4 whole. The breakage takes away from the enjoyment and if you get past that, the aftertaste did me in. I did not finish the bag but I figured that means I consumed less calories!

Next, came the Cinnamon Bun Swirl crisps. These were a little more in one piece but the drizzle on top was mostly on the bottom of the bag. The sweetness is not overwhelming and the cinnamon had a nice balance to it. Again, the odd aftertaste was present but you could overlook this one more. The crisps had a pleasant crunch and like some products on the market, these did not leave you with a cotton mouth after you ate them. I could actually see myself picking up a bag if a sweet craving hits me that is overwhelming because a bag is just 100 calories for 20 to 22 crisps. These were also 30% whole in the bag!

SlimFast’s Ready to drink shake that comes in an easy to go bottle. The bottle idea I like because sometimes messing with powder and a scoop can be a pain, but I usually take a bottle water (or almond milk) and just scoop into a shaker bottle when I am on the go. I then combine the ingredients (wet/dry) when I am ready to consume them, so this way I don’t end up with chocolate powder that found it’s way out of a plastic baggy and went poof in my purse! I made sure to try the drink cold from the fridge and upon opening the bottle, the Vanilla scent is not very Vanilla like. I take a sip and the drink is about 4 out of ten when it comes to overall taste and flavor. I have had much better and this drink had an odd thickness to it. I made sure to shake it just in case and the thickness left a film in my mouth that was not very vanilla or real milk tasting, or even a nut milk flavor! It took away from the enjoyment and even with time, I could not get use to it. Being able to get 20 grams of protein on the go is a plus, but when I priced it out, weighed in the flavor/texture and the ingredients, I would still opt for a premium powder mix that is usually higher in protein. I did fix the flavor by adding part of a scoop of powdered Peanut Butter and Chocolate, and that is when I noticed that my PB and Chocolate powder had a better quality of chocolate and real flavor than what the Slim Fast drink. I then felt I wasted a scoop of the “good stuff” on trying to make the not so good stuff better! I also noticed there is natural and artificial flavors but no where but the title of the drink says Vanilla. It’s called Vanilla Creme but nowhere is Vanilla listed! I then stopped looking at the ingredients because they made my tummy rumble more. 😦

Last but not least, the bar in Dark Chocolate and Sea salt. This is a meal replacement bar and has 10 grams of protein and 200 calories. Ninety of those calories come from fat and the protein derives from Soy, not Whey. I look at the list and there are so many other bars on the market with better core ingredients and even protein impact, and with less fat! This bar is super sweet and off in taste, plus costs more than the better bars. The Dark Chocolate has a waxy texture and is of poor quality. I did not go past the one bite because my calories and fat matters. The bar is filled with syrups derived from everything from brown rice, tapioca and simple cane. They added Inulin as a source of fiber, plus Fractionated Palm Kernel Oil to hold it all together. Let me add the above comes before the Cocoa itself and Oats was still listed before the chocolate! They might as well called the flavored Sweet Oats-y. The only positive is that it has Almonds as a first ingredients but I felt they were ruined by the rest!

Final Verdict:
I love the VoxBoxes and Influenster! I am not so in love with Slim Fast. I think back and they are a company that his been around a long time but I feel they are always playing catch up and still stuck in the motto of “portion control baggies”. Most people that are serious about losing weight and/or managing their weight, can portion out an individual serving. They sell containers to baggies to help you out that serve as a carrying vessel and probably keep the products in more decent shape. You can use a scale or like I do, I still use a scale but I test myself first to see if I can visually guess-estimate on my own and then verify with the scale. I notice I usually serve myself a little under the 1 serving a packaging lists. I can do math, so I don’t need someone doing it for me. Next, the ingredients used are “old school” but not in a good way. Cheap sugars, bad oils, artificial flavors and dyes, and poor protein sources is not what I call healthy eating. Yes, you get less calories but that is barely the entire picture when eating well. You need good fats, a good source of protein and more to stay energized. Yes, the Slim Fast products come with vitamins and minerals but again a multi-vitamin can do that for you if that is what you desire! I looked at the products as a whole and asked myself is this a balanced diet? Slim Fast does not state just eat our food solely but the 1 meal or 2 real meals you add in a day should not make-up for everything you did not get. I want energy and I’m not even asking for a boost of it from products, just keep me going in the day. If I started with a shake, ate a bar for lunch (maybe 1 or 2 crisp snacks) and then ate dinner…..well, when my body is suppose to be winding down is when my body got the better fuel. Yeah, that did not sit well with me! Then I saw the price points because convenience comes at a price and Slim Fast was more expensive than the “golden dietary products” on the market. Um, I’m paying more to eat less better is what entered my head. Yeah, I prefer paying the bills Santa brought and managing my weight with other products than paying for products that are sub-par both in how they were made and how they came out of a bag!

I was very excited again to get a VoxBox from Influenster. There is never a box that does not contain a new item to new brands I have never tried. This box was a beauty and food themed box, which really sums up the holiday season. The Frosty Vox Box really brought a little bit of everything from several very know brands:
Was very generous and gave us two products to try out that go hand-in-hand, the Gentle Eye Make-up Remover and the ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal eyeliner. Both products are reasonably priced and that is welcomed after the holiday splurges. What I like about the line is that their beauty items always exceed expectations and they allow me to keep up with whatever new fashion trend and/or look is in, but still be able to keep the lights on!
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Even with the nude colors being in, we still need lipstick and sometimes things get too pale or plain. NYC fixes that by adding a touch of color with their Expert Last Lip line in Sugar Plum. The Sugar Plum color is rosy but also sheer, with a hint of shine but thankfully not super glossy. The last thing you want to do is look back at every picture you took in Winter and your lips are blinding everyone. With Valentine’s Day approaching, this color again fits perfectly with the season……so not just a one holiday and done product.

This is my first time using this line and I was happy that the brush kept my locks nice and smooth, did not create static and was gentle enough to not break or stress my hair. The brush has a nice handle for easy hold and also is nicely balanced, which is appreciated when I do a ponytail look. What I like is how easy it is to clean because even though I use a low amount of leave-in products, the oils I do use can cause our hair tools to create build-up. Dirty bristles is not an issue with this brush!

- No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Sachet
I was so happy when I saw this brand included and before the box arrived. My happiness sort of faded when I noticed this was not even a deluxe sample, but more of a packet with maybe 2 uses if I am lucky. Two uses does not mean I can be fair or even really know about performance. I may be able to share my opinion about the texture, and this product does have a light feel and quickly absorbs. Unfortunately, that is all I can share because results take work and time, plus I’m always willing to give it to a beauty product but that also means I need a little more than 2 applications. 🙂

- Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea
Just when I thought I was peppermint and pumpkin out with the holidays, this shows me that a tea can make the difference. This tastes like true peppermint with it’s subtle and refreshing notes, that not only soothe but also calm me perfectly before bedtime. Being decaffeinated allows me to enjoy this selection of herbal tea anytime I want and still get a good snooze in.

I grow our own thyme but sometimes the cold snap we get decides I did not need that plant, so I always have thyme in dry form. I also like to add dry ingredients with fresh ones because the flavor profile does change and even sometimes is preferred over the fresh (i.e. oregano) kind. This jar arrived and I was happy to have more thyme and then looked at my thyme and even though it was not an aged bottle, my thyme was lacking that nice color, aroma and started to feel ashamed about how pretty the McCormick Gourmet one looked so I set it free and left this new bottle in it’s stead.

Not all can be winners and this was one again taught me all because it says cherry, it does not mean even 1% of a real cherry is in it. Not the juice, I would have even been happy with cherry skin at this point but these vines are fruit lacking and sugar is all they bring. I even chuckled when it came to vitamins and everything was 0%. I know it’s candy and even for some a snack, but let me sin with something at least partially real. I think the cherry needs an asterisk or maybe it should be called wanna-be cherry or sugar vines. It has no preservatives but then again there is nothing real to preserve!

Final Verdict-
Influenster always delivers an array of products that make me re-look at what I buy, own or even want. I brought economical beauty brands back into the mix and just like my clothes, my fashion looks now are like my beauty products……in all price ranges! I’m happier this way and that is really what matters. These Vox Boxes are always a hit even when I get some so-so products because trying is really the only way to know and share with others! Thank you again Influenster for another Vox Box experience!

Rimmel was kind enough to indulge us with two of their products via Influenster’s Frosty Vox Box. The first one is the part of the ScandalEyes collection, the waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner. I usually use a brush to outline my eyes with eye shadows, but it can take an extra 5 minutes I do not always have to spare. My eye shadows are also not waterproof, so this is why sometimes I may skip on eyeliner as a whole. Not no more! This beauty just glides smoothly and has staying power. It not only remains where you leave it but the color’s intensity and application does not budge. Waterproof and stay proof indeed! You then think about the colors to choose from and the price-point, this is a must for any beauty box! I suffer from seasonal allergies, which means whatever is in the air is going to irritate me all year round and I can say that even though this Rimmel product is tough against humidity, sweat, weather and any moisture, it was very kind to my eyes. Definitely will be picking up more and can’t wait for the beautiful looks I will be creating this next season because waterproof make-up and bikinis are just a pair made in heaven. Get yours today and this is an affordable and very appreciated gift anytime of the year!

Another great Vox Box from Influenster and this one had a little bit of everything. Even though Summer just arrived, this Spring Fling Vox Box has you prepared to take it on and look as beautiful as ever doing it!

- Rimmel Londom Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara
The new ScandalEyes Retro Glam Mascara by Rimmel London, has a great brush that distributes a non-crumbling and free of clumps formula evenly to your lashes. The delivery of the mascara via the nicely shaped bristles, gives you a look you can build-up or down. The even coats lets you glam your eyes with intensity for a bold look or you can just apply a light coat for a nice and classic finish. I also feel when the formula sets, it tends to hold the curl up through out the day and your lashes do not feel ultra stiff or heavy. Pair it with a “cat eye look” and a bold lipstick, you get a gorgeous look that never fades and is perfect for summer. I have been using a smokey bronze shadow and a thin wing tip at the end to get that copper-ish glow and I pair it with a nice nude colored lipstick. Great and an easy daytime look! You also can’t beat the $5.99 price tag! A water-proof version is also available in case there is a beach or a pool in your future.
Connect with Rimmel London:

- Kiss Everlasting French Nails
Each packet comes with 28 nails in 14 different sizes that lasts a recommended 7 days. You get Kiss’s “no chip nail ” technology, which is easily applied in less than 10 minutes and this includes fitting to make sure you have the nail size that suits your finger nail best. No waiting to dry your nails, you literally glue and go! The glue is gentle to your natural nails but strong enough to hold the nail in place. No one wants a flying nail no matter how gorgeous they may look, but with Kiss Everlasting French, you are free of “nail attacks”. I love the peachy pink colored base that has a nice tone that matches any skin color beautifully. The white tip has a pleasant hue but not so white that it looks unpleasant or to intense. The box supplies you enough nails to get 2 applications and for the cost of under $6.50, you can get a salon look without the price tag. Any girl’s dream and you can find the Kiss Everlasting French nails in Flat or Regular nail arches, which come in a Medium length. Available in stores like Target, CVS, and Walgreens to Rite-Aid and Kmart. Pick-up yours today to get a classic that never fades and that includes the nail polish in this case too!
Connect with Kiss and their nail collection:

The lip balm advertises a 5 in 1 lip care system. Think BB cream but for your lips! You get protection from future damage with the SPF 15. The formula helps Hydrate and Replenish moisture. You get Smoothness for that kissable look and a touch of shine. All that protection in a cute looking cube! I would rate the shine as low ,so you get more of a natural sheen that is not super glossy with zero tint. I liked the new Pomegranate Blueberry and because it’s in cube shape, I could easily find it when needed and it also stacked well with my other items in my purse. I used it both as a primer and protection under my lipsticks/glosses, but it performed well alone too. The product retails for a fair price point of $3.49 and you also have the choice of Fresh Mint or Vanilla Bean if the Pom & Berry is not your thing.
Connect with SoftLips:

- Nivea Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion
A lotion that has skin toning properties and also improves skin’s firmness and all in as little as 2 weeks. With bathing suit and bikini season in motion, I don’t want my skin to be in motion too. Nivea’s lotion has Co-Enzyme Q10 and Hydra IQ that deliver rejuvenating properties and also helps your skin retain deep and moisture longer. You won’t see my complaining if I can get skin improvements out of a bottle and especially firming and toning. It does not replace a work-out but it definitely softness my skin and with the extra hydration, I did notice a plumper feeling, which gave me a tighter/firmer look. The hits keep on coming with Influenster. Next up: Vaseline has come out with a line dedicated just for Men with non-floral scents and formulas that have “man-staying power”, like 24 hours moisture protection. You have lotions that dry in seconds but hydrate, leaving your skin feeling non-greasy, but still soft. I know many men skip on lotions but no lady wants to see or feel cracked skin……so here comes Vaseline with it’s fast-drying formulas, giving you zero excuses on why a man should skip on skincare!

Finally, a product that is not for me or the pup! Yes, I blog and I try to find products I can share or even just geared towards men but they are really hard to come by. I would so try a hammer and many times would even find it as a stress relieving tool, but I have yet to find the company that sets this lady up with such a tool and I would even take a mallet at this point! So, I may not be able to start hitting things but I can at least help in the skin department. Men sometimes act like toddlers when a lotion bottle is brought up. I hear claims of it smelling “girly” or the ever popular that the skin will feel “icky”. Ummmm, dry and cracked skin is icky and I have seen some guys with let’s say ashy knees and elbows!
Test Results:
In comes Vaseline to save the real icky skin with a light formula. We spray a leg and give it a try. Husband states it feels light and wet but quickly drys, leaving your skin feeling like nothing bad happened. I never knew applying lotion was so traumatizing but I’m thinking some Hubbies add drama to the mix! I noticed the skin color changed (it’s alive!) but remain mum about how his skin now looks nourished and just focus on how it feels……like nothing happened. Hubby uses the 24 hour spray after showering and I hear everyday the spray going after he turns the water off. It goes on and on, day after day, until I notice it on my shopping list, which hangs on the side of the fridge the words written, “Vas lotion MEN”. This is a guy that tells me he is out of something when I ask to be told when he is low on stuff! I still have to make “emergency trips” to the store to pick-up deodorant because he swore he had an extra one that then disappears. I blame the invisible funk gnome that must be one clean smelling guy for the stash of extra deodorants, floss, to even shampoos that just go poof. In the end, I am glad for the hygiene help and finally a lotion that is “non-icky” and feels like nothing happened, but thankfully is working 🙂
Price Point: $7.99 for a 6.5 ounce can

Voxbox madness! The next one up in the parade is Red Rose Teas. Red Rose is a Canadian company, which has been making teas since the late 1800’s. The Simply Indulgent line uses a black tea base combined with natural extract, which bring you wonderful dessert-like flavors like Lemon Chiffon, Creme Caramel to Peach Cobbler and even Cinnamon Bun. You can purchase the products in tea bag form or single serve cups. I received two flavors to try from the Simply Indulgent line, Creme Caramel and Lemon Chiffon.
Taste Test: I love teas and coffees and I happen to be fond of Black teas….they are the espresso of teas for me, since I tend to like a stronger and deeper brew. Seeing these and the flavors was like getting a dessert in a cup minus the bake time or the hefty calories.
- Creme Caramel: I opened the bag while my water heated up and the tea appears very minced and fine. I was hoping to pick-up a sweet caramel or even a caramelized sugar scent, however nothing really came forward to my nose that made me think of the image featured on the front of the bag…..a cheesecake smothered with caramel sauce. I still proceeded and made the cup without adding any sweeteners. I left the tea steeping and noticed for being derived from black tea leaves, the cup’s liquid was pretty light in color but I can report the color was like that of caramel. This is as caramel as anything got for me. The tea was simple and light, but not bold in taste. I did not pick up a pleasant taste and I even have some teas that are not straight out black, but blends prior to this one. It just did not deliver in the tea or caramel department. I added honey and just a touch hoping it would maybe help but I just tasted the honey I had added. I tried a second time with another bag and left it steeping a longer amount of time, but the bag really only has so much punch that it did not aid my quest in this creme caramel pursuit.
- Lemon Chiffon: This is a decaffeinated blend and you see a pretty glowing yellow slice of lemon chiffon pie on the package. It even has a small dollop of whipped cream and a lemon zest shaving to compliment (aka: draw me in) the look. I again follow the directions and steep for 7 minutes, as it stated between 3 to 5 on the bag or until the desired strength. I went to the point the lemon smell was present to my liking! I added a small touch of honey and proceeded. This tea smelled like sweet lemons and very much like you would imagine before steeping and delivered the same results after. I thought I was a caramel girl but with Red Rose, I am definitely Chiffon-ing it! This one I liked…..this one I would buy. The black tea blend had the perfect strength and was not as powdery in texture as the caramel one. I enjoyed it and I felt it was worthy of the Simply Indulgent title!
Price Point: $4.49 for a carton that contains 20 tea bags
Ingredients (as listed on the site): You will read on the site that the tea comes from the finest tea estates, natural extracts, even rich undertones but other than being a black tea blend, you will find zero on the contents. I have no idea if the lemon has lemon oils, dried lemon zest, if it’s a Meyer Lemon or anything and much less can be figured out on the Caramel. The packet, the site on-line…..nothing lists contents or ingredients.

The price for 20 bags makes it worth trying. I kept in mind that this is a blend and the tea leaf is not loose but rather crushed to powder form in the packet. For a quick change or you just want a lighter black tea, Red Rose fits that spot nicely. Would I want the Caramel Creme to taste like advertised? Well, I never thought of such notes in a tea and even though I must admit I am heavy into the Fleur de Sel Caramels in any form…..maybe tea should be left alone there. I much rather have that slice of cheesecake with the caramel sauce featured on the packet! The Lemon Chiffon delivered in smell and taste so Red Rose is batting a 50/50 with me. I suggest keep that in mind when picking flavors…..make sure you have associated them with teas before like the cinnamon ones and you should be fine.

What, more VoxBox goodness? Why, yes, this time from John Frieda. John Frieda’s Frizz Ease line has come out with a new product to help tame your locks when using a Flat Iron. The product comes in spray form for easy application and contains Keratin. Keratin is a natural protein, which is present in hair. The protein aids with dry time by shortening it and also helps tame your locks. The end result is less frizz and many people use such treatments and products with Keratin for it’s restorative properties. I have been using a Flat Iron spray, so I was happy to test this one out and see how it performs. The spray is advertised as heat activated and also states it will help to protect your hair from the damage caused by such elements. John Frieda’s Flat iron Spray gives you up to 3-Days of straighter hair (or less if you shampoo earlier) and you are left with a glossy and smooth finish.

My Results:
My former Flat Iron spray does not contain Keratin but does work almost in the same manner, by being activated by heat and also serving as a protectant. The other difference is that the John Frieda brand may only be applied when hair is wet and this may be because of how the product works and the Keratin properties. I sprayed as directed, starting with 7 to 15 sprays. If your hairy is curlier, unruly, longer or just plain thicker. you will need to apply more sprays. My hair is long so I had to apply close to 17 sprays because I admit I lost count between 14 and on. The trigger is simple to push so not you will get a soar trigger finger and you then just simply comb your hair to get even distribution. You then use a hair dryer to blow dry your hair straight and then use the flat iron to finish. I did just that and between the new blow dryer and the spray, my hair was ready in 10 minutes to begin the flat iron process. John Frieda recommends you flat iron in sections for best results, something I already do so it was easy and familiar for me to proceed. My hair has zero when it came to the frizz factor and the scent is pleasant, not chemically. My hair had a natural healthy shine that looked glossy but not oily. Day two arrived and I looked like Day One, so I was happy. By Day 3 my hair was tame and even though I slept in a loose bun, I was still able to achieve a hair down look I was satisfied with.
Price Point: $9,99 for a 3.5 fluid ounce bottle
Ingredients (as listed on the site):
WATER, ALCOHOL, POLYSILICONE-9, HYDROLIZED KERATIN, BENZOPHENONE-4, STEARTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, BENZYL ALCOHOL, MALIC ACID, LACTIC ACID, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, FRAGRANCE, DISODIUM EDTA, METHYLPARABEN, PROPYLPARABEN
You get enough product to use and don’t let the spray count deceive you. Yes, it’s high but also light in application. I also like that this product can be found at Target to Walgreen’s. Use a coupon and the price will be friendlier 🙂

I recently got the opportunity to try some really nifty products, thanks to Influencer. Starting with Boots Botanics. Boots Botanics uses the “Power of Plants” for a more natural approach to beauty. The mask contains Oceanic minerals, plus active plant extracts like Willow bark, which is a natural source of Salicylic Acid. Salicylic Acid is part of the beta-hydroxic acid family and is found in many acne clearing products to anti-aging regimens. The acid helps refine skin’s texture, lower inflammation (like an aspirin), and open clogged pores, helping you shed dead skin more rapidly. Continual use will produce a skin surface with smaller pores that is not constricted by clogs or bacteria, which causes blemishes.
My Results: I received this item in the #JadoreVoxBox from Influenster. I have heard of the Boots brand but have never tried any of their products. This was my first experience with the brand! The mask provides your skin with a deep clean using clay enriched with minerals. You are left with a purified clean surface, but the results are not over drying. The mask was able to clean my pores and remove any excess oils, plus I was left with pores that appeared smaller in size. My face was glowing and soft to the touch.
Price Point: $9.39 for 3.5 ounces
Ingredients (as listed on the site): Sea silt (Natural oceanic clay), Aqua (Water), Potassium sorbate, Sodium hydroxymethylglycinate, Salix nigra (Willow) bark extract
I was happy not only with the price point but a little product goes a long way. Application was simple, by just applying to clean skin and I left the product on for about 10 to 15 minutes. I dislike when masks over clean and get rid of not only the bad but the good, but this mask does not fall into that department. Over-stripping is not something I experienced at all!
